The meaning of 'Indra indeed fashioned for himself a great self by means of these \[verses\]' has also been stated. 'Fashioning' means establishing oneself through explaining them; for otherwise, those \[verses\] could not be instruments \[of that fashioning\].
There is the scripture: 'He who knows that shall be the father's father.' / 'Three steps are deposited in secret places; he who knows that shall be the father's father.'
'Though they are female, they have spoken to me of them as male; he who has eyes sees, the blind does not discern. / The wise son, he has understood these; he who fully understands them shall be the father's father.'
