And there is the scripture: “With the four and ninety names, He set the rotating wheel in motion, like the Vyatis.”
And in the scripture: 'May that Indra strengthen me with intelligence. O god, may I become a bearer of immortality. May my body be vigorous. May my tongue be exceedingly sweet. May I hear abundantly with both ears.'
'The gods do not take up a stick and protect like herdsmen; / rather, whomever they wish to protect, they endow him with intellect'—thus in the Mahābhārata. / 'Takvan' means the creator of the world, from the verbal root 'tak' in the sense of making, / and from such usages as: 'The offspring, made through creation, does not turn back.' / And \[He is\] the leader of all. That very form is He, which is the nature of the creator and leader of the world.
