kālāntareṇāniṣpattir hetuvināśāt ||
Non-production at another time [must result], because the cause has perished.
388.4
dhvastāyāṃ pravṛttau pravṛtteḥ phalaṃ na kāraṇam antareṇotpattum arhati, na khalu vai vinaṣṭāt kāraṇāt kiñcid utpadyate iti//45//
When the activity has perished, the fruit of the activity cannot arise without a cause; indeed, nothing at all arises from a perished cause. //45
