sāmānyena pramāṇāni parīkṣya viśeṣeṇa parīkṣyante/ tatra ---
Having examined the means of valid cognition in general, they are now examined in particular. There:

ātmamanaḥsannikarṣo hi kāraṇāntaraṃ noktam iti//21//
For contact of the self and the mind, which is another cause, is not mentioned. ||21
