59.2

yathā loka iṣṭaviṣayautsukye sati tasya nivṛttyarthaṃ kriyāsu gamanāgamanāsu pravartate kṛtakāryo nivartate | tathāvyaktaṃ puruṣasya vimokṣārthaṃ śabdādibhogalakṣaṇaṃ guṇapuruṣāntaropalabdhilakṣaṇaṃ dvividhaṃ puruṣārthaṃ kṛtvā nivartate //

Just as people, when there is eagerness for a desired object, engage in actions such as going and coming for the sake of ceasing that [eagerness], and cease when their task is accomplished, so the unmanifest, having accomplished the twofold purpose of the spirit—characterised by the enjoyment of sound and the rest, and characterised by the apprehension of the difference between the constituents and the spirit—ceases for the sake of the liberation of the spirit.
