So also up to those extending upward-and-downward.” > “Venerable Sir, are the series of the space of the cosmos with beginning and with end?”—Question. > “Gautama, they are with beginning and with end, not with beginning and endless, not beginningless and with end, not beginningless and endless. So also up to those extending upward-and-downward.” > “Venerable Sir, are the series of the space of the non-cosmos with beginning and with end?”—Question. > “Gautama, sometimes with beginning and with end, sometimes with beginning and endless, sometimes beginningless and with end, sometimes beginningless and endless. Those extending east-to-west and those extending south-to-north are just the same, with the exception: they are not with beginning and with end; sometimes with beginning and endless; the rest is just the same. Those extending upward-and-downward are as stated generally: likewise four alternatives.” > “Venerable Sir, are series kṛtayugma or tryoja in terms of substance?”—Question. > “Gautama, they are kṛtayugma, not tryoja, not dvāparayugma, not kalyoja. So also up to those extending upward-and-downward. The series of the space of the cosmos are just the same.
