> \[52\] Then she, smiling and her heart softened by the charming manners of his face bathed in smiles, offered fruit to his cupped hands that expressed a host of desires; and showing him from a distance the gesture of gathering them together, she was able to fill them completely. \[53\] She did not even distinguish whether her own basket had become empty of fruit or not. But when he had stepped inside the house, not noticing that her leaf-basket had effortlessly filled with jewels, and not even considering its weight, engrossed in the trance of his sweetness, she went to her own home to bring joy to her kin and fetch a generous offering of many fruits. But having reached home and discovered the jewels, that fortunate woman, overcome with ceaseless longing due to separation from the abundant splendor of his face, felt as if she had lost a great treasure; for having gazed upon Kṛṣṇa, she forgot the entire universe.

And then, wagging their forefingers in a gesture warning them not to come, looking on secretly, they suddenly grasped their arms. The boys, however, all fled in every direction, and some women speaking out in approval and some as if in reproach of the boys' restlessness came forward alongside the two mothers.
