### [3.21](https://indike.org/pramana/in.lit.campu.ramayana.ramayanacampu~en-mt.3.21)

“Yet who but you would believe to wash, with the stream of blood welling from his own heart, the noble prince’s arrow, its tip muddy with the thick fat adhering delightfully at the time of crushing the night-roamer army headed by Khara?
Or else, if your own misconduct brings about the breakfast of blood-water for the cataka-birds that are the arrows of the son of Sumitrā, who have thirsted under the drought of a lack of battle ever since the battle of Janasthāna, who would be able to avert it?”
Then, to the lord of the night-roamers pierced by the five arrows of Love,
not a single word of Janaka's daughter brought relief;
for when a man is bitten by a five-headed serpent and his death has arrived,
can the power of an herb whose poison-remedying virtue has been neutralized enter him? (21)
