Thereupon, furious at the death of the foremost warriors of the yātudhāna army and perceiving the futility of various weapons, the son of the Ten-necked One bound the son of the Wind, in whom lingered the fragrance of the goddess of victory, with the weapon of Brahmā.
When his body was incapacitated by that divine weapon, the flesh-eaters bound him with ropes of hemp.
That binding of Māruti, born of the nooses of the night-roamers, / became the cause of release from bondage / for the celestial beauties formerly imprisoned / by that defiler of the lineage of Pulastya.
