> Time indeed is the Lord, without beginning or end, conforming to the accumulated actions \[of living beings\]. / Under its influence, the Sun and other \[heavenly bodies\] and the great elements such as space, transforming this way and that, assume the role of causes and conditions for the birth and death of living beings, and for the impairment or prosperity of the seasons, tastes, potencies, doṣas, bodily strength, and constitutions.
> And in this context, if a woman should have pain in the bladder, flanks, pelvis, and vaginal orifice, along with the appearance of menstrual blood, / one should treat her, lying on a bed with a soft, comfortable, and cool spread, with her head slightly lowered, by means of cold poultices, affusions, and the like.
> Also in diarrhea caused by āma, vomiting, poisoning, jaundice, and fevers;
> with unctuous peyā, vegetable broths, meat broths, and the like, prepared with vāta-pacifying substances.
> One should boil eight palas \[of medicines\] and half a tulā of goat's meat in water until a fourth part remains;
