Puṇḍra, pāṇḍu, puṇḍarīka, pramoda, the two gauraśārivas,
kāñcana, mahiṣa, śūka, dūṣaka, kusumāṇḍaka;
Between the big toe and the \[second\] toe is Kṣipra; an injury there causes death from convulsions.
Two finger-breadths above Kṣipra on both sides is Kūrca;
there, trembling and rotation of the foot occur. Below the ankle joint is Kūrcaśiras;
there, pain and swelling occur.
At the union of the foot and the lower leg is Gulpha;
there, pain, stiffness of the leg, or impotence occurs.
Twelve finger-breadths up from the heel, in the middle of the calf, is Indrabasti;
there, death occurs from loss of blood.
At the junction of the calf and thigh is Jānu; there, lameness occurs.
Its cause is of two kinds: misconduct of the parents and fate.
From both of these arises the aggravation of all three doṣas;
therefore, they are incurable.
By this, all hereditary disorders are explained.
Or with gruel containing ghee, prepared with emetic substances;
When given to one who has overeaten, who is heavy, who has an accumulation of feces, or who is weak,
the unctuous substance, enveloped by these, does not return, even due to overwhelm.
