or one whose upper chest aches severely when speaking;
or whose exhalation is exceedingly long, exceedingly short, foul-smelling, or sweet-smelling;
or whose fingers, when pulled, do not crack;
or who produces another, abnormal sound in sneezing, urinating, and the like;
or who has a pleasant or unpleasant smell—like that of garlands, fruit, sandalwood, a corpse, and so on—in his body, mouth, wastes, ulcers, clothes, and the like;
or whose body, out of bad taste or good taste, lice, flies, and other insects excessively abandon or flock to;
or who has coldness in parts of the body that are continually warm, or who in cold ones has excessive chill resembling a white or blue lotus, excessive sweating, excessive rigidity, and a sinking down as if devoid of flesh and blood;
and in whose body a combination or excessive combination of the primary elements is observed all at once—
all of them are considered ripe for death.
And here it is said:
And when the vāta moves downwards, that \[gravel\] falls away with the urine like sand.
In such a span of time, a drink that has taken the wrong path is digested.
And here it is said:
