gṛñjanāruṇavṛkṣāsṛgjantugarbha phalāni ca
akālakusumādīni dvijojagdhvaindavaṃ caret
carrots, red tree sap, fruits containing insects, / and out-of-season flowers and the like—a twice-born who eats [any of these] should observe the Cāndrāyaṇa penance.
