Śrī Śuka said:
Having thus bestowed grace upon the gopīs, the Lord, their spiritual guide and refuge, / then questioned Yudhiṣṭhira and all his friends about their welfare.
1. Sri Suka said:—The Almighty Lord, the preceptor and goal of the world, thus granted the gopis their prayer and then made enquiries of Yudhishtira and all other friends about their welfare.

ta evaṃ loka-nāthena paripṛṣṭāḥ su-sat-kṛtāḥ /

Having been thus questioned and deeply honored by the master of the world, / with delighted minds, their sins destroyed by the sight of his feet, they replied:
2. Thus kindly enquired after and honoured by the Supreme Lord, they were transported with joy and were rid of their sin by the virtue of seeing His feet and said:—

Whence can there ever be inauspiciousness for embodied beings who drink to the full with the cups of their ears / the nectar of your lotus feet flowing from the mouths of great-minded devotees, which destroys the forgetfulness that creates the body, O Lord?
3. Whence could any evil (anything inauspicious) assail those who with their ears drink well of the sweet nectar of Thy lotus feet,
which sometimes flows out from the mind of the great and their lips and which, O Lord, removes the ignorance in respect of Thee, which is the cause of the body on the part of creatures?

As the people were thus praising the crest-jewel of those of highest renown, the women of the Andhakas and the Kauravas, / having met together, mutually recounted the stories of Govinda, which are sung in the three worlds; listen as I describe them to you.
5. Rishis said:— When the people were singing the praises of the Brightest Jewel among those of high glory (the Lord), the women of Andhakas (Achyuta) and Kauravas met together and mutually sang Sri Govinda's stories that are sung in all the worlds (by the wise). Listen to them as I describe them.

9. Satyabhama said:— In order to wipe off the blame which my father, grieved at the loss of his brother, cast on Him, the Lord vanquished the great bear and restored the jewel to him. Thereupon my father full of fear offered me to the Almighty Lord, though I had been promised to another.
