jalaṃ cāśubhrarūpeṇa pāpaiśca paridṛśyate /
yāvacchubhrodakaṃ devi tāvatsanānaṃ ca kārayet //

3.27.6
yāvacchubhrodakaṃ naiva tāvatpāpaṃ na naśyati /
śuddhodake samāyāte pāpaṃ naṣṭamiti dhruvam //
As long as the water is not bright white, the sin is not destroyed; / when clean water appears, sin is destroyed, this is certain.
3.27.7
kalāvitthaṃ viśālākṣi mahimā dṛśyate bhuvi /
atra snānaṃ prakartavyaṃ dātavyaṃ dāna muttamam /
tataśca jñānamāsādya viviṣṇulokaṃ sa gacchati //

kiṃ saṃjñikeyaṃ viprendra kiṃ kāryaṃ hyatra me vada //
Seeing [it], the maiden asked her lordly guru Jaigīṣavya: / 'What is this named, O best of the twice-born? Tell me, what should I do here?'
3.27.16
jaigīṣavyaḥ pṛṣṭa eva muvāca karuṇānidhiḥ /
iyaṃ bhāgīrathī kanye āyāti hyantareṇa tu //
Being thus questioned, Jaigīṣavya, a treasure of compassion, said: / 'O maiden, this Bhāgīrathī flows internally.
3.27.17
ataḥ sā procyate hyantargaṅgeti paramarṣibhiḥ /
kanye tvasyāstu salilaṃ śrīninivāsapriyaṃ sadā //
Therefore, it is called Antargaṅgā by the supreme sages. / O maiden, its water is always dear to Śrīnivāsa.

tasyopari brahmatīrthaṃ brahmahatyāvimocanam //

svasya prāśastyabhāve tu naivedyādi guḍādikam /
grāhyameva na saṃdeho anyathā nārakī bhavet //

There is no god higher than Śrīnivāsa, nor has there been, nor will there be. / Having cooked by oneself, likewise [food] cooked with ghee and the like, / and having presented it as a food offering to Śrīnivāsa, one should partake of food.
3.27.40
idaṃ tu paramaṃ gopyaṃ tavoktaṃ ca khageśvara /
na kasyāpi ca vaktavyaṃ gopyatvātkhagasattama /
itaḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi tāratamyaṃ śṛṇu prabho //
This supreme secret has been spoken to you, O Lord of Birds. / Because it is secret, O best of birds, it should not be told to anyone. / Hereafter I shall declare the cosmic hierarchy; listen, O lord!'
