taṃ mumocātha vegena nimimuddiśya dānavam //

> Seeing this, Lord Viṣṇu took up His dreadful club studded with precious stones and violently struck Nimi with it. At that time the three demons smashed that club while in the air. Jambha threw his club at it, Grasana his sharp-edged spear and Mahiṣâsura his trident. They shattered the club like the entreaties made to the wicked. Viṣṇu, seeing the destruction of His club, threw his trident bedecked with bells at the demon Jambha.—19-22
