When the Daityas made use of their arms, the Kâladaṇḍâstra was pacified which furiously enraged Viṣṇu. He aimed His famous quoit of the lustre of 10,000 suns, hard like thunderbolt and of sharp spokes at the neck of the demon Grasana. Then all the demons, seeing the quoit dashing through the air, tried their best to thwart it, but could not check it, as the decree of fate cannot be evaded.
