87.1
The Lord said: / Next I will describe the mountain of sesame seeds according to rule, / by the donation of which a person goes to the eternal world of Viṣṇu.
87.2
The mountain of sesame seeds is declared to be best at ten droṇas, / intermediate at five, and lowest at three, O best of brahmins.
87.3
And all the other supporting hills around it [are made] as before. / I shall declare the donation mantras duly, O best of sages:
87.4
"Since at the slaying of Madhu, sesame seeds, kuśa grass, and beans / arose from the bodily sweat of Viṣṇu, therefore may they bring peace here!
87.5
And since sesame seeds alone are the protection in offerings to the gods and offerings to the ancestors, / lift [me] up from worldly existence, O king of mountains! O sesame mountain, praise be to you!"
87.6
Whoever invokes thus and gives the peerless sesame mountain / goes to the realm of Viṣṇu, from which return is hard to attain.
87.7
He attains a long life and rejoices with sons and grandsons; / being worshipped by ancestors, gods, and Gandharvas, he goes to heaven.
