91.1
The Lord said: / Hereafter I shall explain the unsurpassed mountain of silver, / from the gift of which a man goes to the unsurpassed world of Soma.
91.2
The highest silver mountain is made of ten thousand palas, / the medium is said to be five thousand, and the lowest is considered half of that.
91.3
One unable [to provide this] may then have it made above twenty [palas] according to his means; / in like manner he should fashion the buttress mountains of one-fourth the size.
91.4
Making Mandara and the others of silver according to rule, as before, / the wise man should likewise worship the world guardians made of gold.
91.5
The slope here, bearing Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and the Sun, must be fashioned of gold; / whatever for the other [mountains] would be silver is here all made of gold.
91.6
The rest he should perform as before: the burnt offering, the vigil, and the like; / then in the morning he should give the silver mountain to the guru.
91.7
Free from envy, darbha grass in hand, he should give the buttress mountains / to the priests with reverent gifts of garments and ornaments, reciting this mantra:
91.8
"Because you are dear to the ancestors, to Viṣṇu, Indra, and Śiva, / therefore protect [us], O silver one, from the ocean of worldly sorrow!"
91.9
A person who dedicates and gives the excellent silver mountain in this manner / obtains the fruit of the gift of ten thousand cows.
91.10
Worshipped in the world of Soma by Gandharvas, Kinnaras, and hosts of Apsarases, / the wise man shall dwell until the cosmic dissolution.
