..rājovāca..
śivasya paramaṃ rūpaṃ tvameko nāsti saṃśayaḥ..
kālastvamasi bhūtānāṃ sthitisaṃhārarūpavān.. 32.73 ..
The king said:

tvadbhayātkṛtinaḥ sarve śaraṇaṃ parameśvaram..
vrajaṃti vividhairbhārvairātmalakṣaṇatatparāḥ.. 32.74 ..

with diverse feelings, intent on the characteristics of the Self.
1.3.30.75
..suta uvāca..
tenaivaṃ rakṣitataḥ kālo rājñā paramadharmiṇā..

Kāla, having thus been protected by the supremely virtuous king,
regained his consciousness through the mere grace of Śiva.
1.3.30.76
tadā yamena stavito mṛtyunā yamadūtakaiḥ..
śivaṃ praṇamya saṃstutya śvetaṃ rājānameva ca..
yayau svamālayaṃ viprā mene svaṃ janitaṃ punaḥ.. 32.76 ..
Then Yama, praised by Death and Yama's messengers,
having bowed to and extolled Śiva and King Śveta,
went to his own abode, O brahmins, and considered himself born anew.
1.3.30.77
māyayā saha patnyā ca śivasya caritaṃ mahat..
anusaṃsmṛtya saṃsmṛtya vismayaṃ paramaṃ yayau.. 32.77 ..
Together with his wife Māyā, repeatedly remembering
the great deed of Śiva, he was filled with supreme wonder.
1.3.30.78
kathayāmāsa sarveṣāṃ dūtānāṃ svayameva hi..
ākarṇyatāṃ mama vaco he dūtāstvaritena hi.. 32.78 ..
He himself indeed spoke to all his messengers:
'Let my words be heard quickly, O messengers!
1.3.30.79
karttavyaṃ ca prayatnena nānyathā mama bhāṣitam.. 32.79 ..
And what is spoken by me must be carried out with diligence, not otherwise.
1.3.30.80
..kāla uvāca..
ye tripuṇḍraṃdhārayaṃti tathā ye vai jaṭādharāḥ..
ye rudrākṣadharāścaiva tathā ye śivanāminaḥ.. 32.80 ..
Kāla said:
Those who wear the tripuṇḍra, likewise those who wear matted hair,
those who wear rudrākṣa beads, and likewise those who bear the name of Śiva,
1.3.30.81
upajīvanahetośca bhiyā ye hyapi mānavāḥ..
pāpino'pi durācārāḥ śivaveṣadharā hyamī.. 32.81 ..
and those men who, even for the sake of livelihood or out of fear,
though sinners and of wicked conduct, wear the guise of Śiva—
1.3.30.82
nānetavyā bhavadbhiśca mama lokaṃ kadācana..
varjyāste hi prayatnena pāpino'pi sadaiva hi.. 32.82 ..
these must never be brought by you to my realm.
They must always be diligently avoided, even if they are sinners.
1.3.30.83
anyeṣāṃ kā kathā dūtā ye'rcayaṃti sadāśivam..
bhaktyā paramayā śaṃbhuṃ rudrāste nātra saṃśayaḥ.. 32.83 ..
What need to speak of others, O messengers, who worship Sadāśiva,
Śambhu, with supreme devotion? They are Rudras, there is no doubt here.
1.3.30.84
rudrākṣamekaṃ śirasā bibharti yastathā tripuṃḍraṃ ca lalāṭamadhyake..
paṃcākṣarīṃ ye prajapaṃti sādhavaḥ pūjya bhavadbhiśca na cānyathā kvacit.. 32.84 ..
One who wears a single rudrākṣa on his head and likewise the tripuṇḍra in the middle of his forehead,
and the virtuous who recite the five-syllable mantra—they must be honored by you, and never otherwise.
1.3.30.85
yasminrāṣṭro'tha vā deśe grāme cāpi vicakṣaṇaḥ..
śivabhakto na dṛśyeta smaśānāttu viśiṣyate..
tadrāṣṭraṃ deśamityāhuḥ satyaṃ prativadāmi vaḥ.. 32.85 ..
In whichever realm, or country, or village, an intelligent
devotee of Śiva is not seen, that realm or country—
I tell you the truth—they say is worse than a cremation ground.
1.3.30.86
yasminna saṃti nityaṃ hi śivabhaktisamanvitāḥ..
tadgramasthā janāḥ sarve śāsanīyā na saṃśayaḥ.. 32.86 ..
Where there are never people endowed with devotion to Śiva,
all the people residing in that village are to be punished, there is no doubt.
1.3.30.87
evamājñāpayāmāsa yamo'pi nijakiṃkarān..
tatheti matvā te sarve tūṣṇī māsansuvismitāḥ.. 32.87 ..
Thus Yama commanded his own servants.
Saying "So be it," they all remained silent, greatly astonished.
1.3.30.88
evaṃvidho'yaṃ bhuvanaikabhartā sadāśivo lokaguruḥ sa ekaḥ..
dātā prahartā nijabhāvayuktaḥ sanātano'yaṃ jagadekabaṃdhuḥ.. 32.88 ..
Such is this sole lord of the universe, Sadāśiva, that one teacher of the world,
the giver, the destroyer, endowed with his innate nature, this eternal, sole friend of the universe.
1.3.30.89
dagdhvā kālaṃ mahādevo nirbhayaṃ ca dadau vibhuḥ..
śvetasya rājarājasya mahīpālavarasya ca.. 32.89 ..
Having burned Kāla, the all-pervading Mahādeva
granted fearlessness to Śveta, the king of kings, the best of rulers.
1.3.30.90
tadā nirbhayamāpannaḥ śvetarājo mahāmanāḥ..
bhaktyā ca parayā mukto babhūva kṛtaniścayaḥ.. 32.90 ..
Then, having attained fearlessness, the high-minded King Śveta,
resolute in purpose, became liberated through supreme devotion.
1.3.30.91
tadā devaiḥ pūjyamāna ṛṣibhiḥ pannagaistathā..
śvato rājanyavaryo'sau śivasāyujyamāptavān.. 32.91 ..
Then, being praised by the gods, by the seers, and likewise by the serpents,
that excellent king Śveta attained communion with Śiva.
1.3.30.92
evaṃ bhaktiparāṇāṃ ca maheśe ca jagadgurau..
siddhiḥ karatale teṣāṃ satyaṃ prativadāmi vaḥ.. 32.92 ..
Thus, for those devoted to Maheśa, the teacher of the world,
perfection lies in the palm of their hand; I tell you the truth.
1.3.30.93
śvapaco'pi variṣṭhaḥ syātprasādācchaṃ karasya ca..
tasmātsarvaprayatnena pūjanīyo hi śaṃkaraḥ.. 32.93 ..
Even a dog-cooker becomes the most eminent through the grace of Śaṃkara;
therefore Śaṃkara is certainly to be worshipped with all effort.
1.3.30.94
bahūnāṃ janamanāmaṃte śivabhaktiḥ prajāyate.. 32.94 ..
At the end of many births devotion to Śiva arises.
1.3.30.95
jñānināṃ kṛtabuddhīnāṃ janmajanmaniśaṃkaraḥ..
kiṃ mayā bahunoktena pūjanīyaḥ sadāśivaḥ.. 32.95 ..
For the wise whose intellect is disciplined, Śaṃkara is [revered] birth after birth.
What need is there of saying much by me? Sadāśiva is to be worshipped.
1.3.30.96
atraivodāharaṃtīmamitihāsaṃ purātanam..
kirātena kṛtaṃ vrataṃ ca paramādbhutam..
yenaiva tāritaṃ viśvaṃ jagadetaccarācaram.. 32.96 ..
In this very regard they cite this ancient legend:
the most wonderful vow performed by a Kirāta,
by which alone this universe, this moving and unmoving world, was saved.

iti śrīskāṃde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ prathame māheśvarakhaṇḍe kedārakhaṇḍe śvetarājacarite śivabhaktiprabhāveṇa kāladahanavṛttāntavarṇanaṃnāma dvātriṃśo'dhyāyaḥ.. 32 .. cha ..
Thus ends the thirty-second chapter, titled "Description of the Account of the Burning of Kāla by the Power of Devotion to Śiva in the Deeds of King Śveta", in the Kedārakhaṇḍa of the first [part], the Māheśvarakhaṇḍa, in the Skandamahāpurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses.
