uvāca taṃ smayaṃtī sā muṃcamuṃceti sādaram.. 35.36 ..
Having said this, afflicted by love, he seized the Śabarī woman by the hand. / Smiling, she respectfully said to him: "Release me, release me!
1.3.33.37
nocitaṃ bhagavānkartuṃ tāpasena balādidam..
yācayasva piturme tvaṃ nānyathābhibhaviṣyasi.. 35.37 ..
It is not fitting for the Lord, an ascetic, to do this by force. / Ask my father; you will not win me in any other way."
1.3.33.38
..mahādeva uvāca..
pitaraṃ kathayāśu tvaṃ sthitaḥ kutra śubhānane..
drakṣyāmi taṃ viśālākṣi praṇipātapuraḥsaram.. 35.38 ..

ānīto hi tayā tanvyā pitaraṃ vṛṣabhadhvajaḥ.. 35.39 ..

ahibhirbahubhiścaiva saṃvṛtaṃ ca mahāprabham.. 35.40 ..

asau mama pitā deva yācasva vigatatrapaḥ..
dadāti māṃ na saṃdehastapasvinmā vilaṃbitam.. 35.41 ..
Shown to Śaṃkara by the goddess as he stood at the doorway: / 'This is my father, O god; ask him, free of bashfulness! / He will give me [to you], there is no doubt, O ascetic, without delay.'
1.3.33.42
tatheti matvā sahasā praṇamya himālayaṃ vākyamidaṃ babhāṣe..
prayaccha tāṃ cādya girīśavarya hyārtāya kanyāṃ subhagāṃ mahāmate.. 35.42 ..

kiṃ jalpasi hi bho deva tāvayuktaṃ ca sāṃpratam..
tvaṃ dātā triṣu lokeṣu tvaṃ svāmī jagatāṃ vibho.. 35.44 ..
'Why do you chatter thus, O god? It is unfitting for you now! / You are the giver in the three worlds, you are the master of the universes, O omnipresent Lord!
1.3.33.45
tvayā tatamidaṃ viśvaṃ jagadetaccarācaram..
evaṃ stutiparo'bhūcca himālayāgirirmahān..
āgato nāradastatra ṛṣibhiḥ parivāritaḥ.. 35.45 ..
By you this entire universe, moving and unmoving, is pervaded.' / While the great mountain Himālaya was thus devoted to praising him, / Nārada arrived there, surrounded by seers.
1.3.33.46
uvāca prahasanvākyaṃ śūlapāṇe namaḥ prabho..
he śaṃbho śrṛṇu me vākyaṃ tattvasāramayaṃ param.. 35.46 ..
Smiling, he said words: 'O wielder of the trident, homage to you, O Lord! / O Śambhu, hear my word, which is the supreme essence of truth.
1.3.33.47

bhaviṣyati na saṃdeho nānyathā vacanaṃ tava..
anayā mohito'dyāhamānīto gaṃdhamādanam.. 35.50 ..
there is no doubt, your word is never false. / Deluded by her today, I was brought to Gandhamādana,
1.3.33.51
piśācavatkṛtamidaṃ caritaṃ paramādbhutam.. 35.51 ..
and like a piśāca I performed this most wondrous act.
1.3.33.52

nirālaṃbaṃ sa vijñāya nārado vākyamabravīt..
girijāṃ ca girīṃdraṃ ca pārṣadānprati satvaram.. 35.53 ..
Perceiving him to be unattached, Nārada spoke words / swiftly to the mountain's daughter, to the king of mountains, and to the attendants:
1.3.33.54
vaṃdanīyaśca stutyaśca kṣāmyatāṃ paramārthataḥ..
maheśo'yaṃ jagannāthastripurārirmahāyaśāḥ.. 35.54 ..

tuṣṭuvuḥ praṇatāḥ sarve pramathā guhyakādayaḥ.. 35.56 ..
all fell down like sticks before Śaṃkara, who brings welfare to the world. / Bowing low, all the pramathas, guhyakas, and others praised him.
