adhyāyaḥ 64
1.4.62.1
evaṃ tatra sthite tīre devyārādhanatatpare ..
While the grandson of Bhīma remained thus on the bank,
1.4.62.2
saptaliṃgārcanarate bhīmanandananandane .. 1 ..
intent on propitiating the Goddess and devoted to the worship of the seven liṅgas,
1.4.62.3
tataḥ kālena kenāpi pāṃḍavā dyūtanirjitāḥ ..
after some time the Pāṇḍavas, having been defeated at dice,
1.4.62.4
tatrājagmuśca kramatastīrthasnānakṛte bhuvam .. 2 ..
came in due course to that land in order to bathe in the sacred fords.
1.4.62.5
prāgeva caṃḍikāṃ devīṃ kṣetrādīśānataḥ sthitām ..
First reaching the goddess Caṇḍikā, situated northeast of the sacred field,
1.4.62.6
āsedurmārgakhinnāste draupadīpaṃcamāstadā .. 3 ..
weary from the journey, those [brothers], with Draupadī as the fifth,
1.4.62.7
tatraiva copaviṣṭo'bhūttadānīṃ caṃḍikāgaṇaḥ ..
arrived there, where the host of Caṇḍikā was also seated at that time.
1.4.62.8
barbarīkaśca tānvīrānsamāyātānapaśyata .. 4 ..
And Barbarīka saw those heroes who had arrived,
1.4.62.9
paraṃ nāsau veda pāṇḍūnpāṇḍavāstaṃ ca no viduḥ ..
yet he did not recognize the sons of Pāṇḍu, nor did the Pāṇḍavas recognize him,
1.4.62.10
ājanma yasmānnaivābhūtpāṇḍūnāṃ cāsya saṃgamaḥ .. 5 ..
because since birth there had been no meeting between the sons of Pāṇḍu and him.
1.4.62.11
tataḥ praviśya vai tasmindevīmāsādya pāṃḍavāḥ ..
Then, having entered there and approached the Goddess, the Pāṇḍavas,
1.4.62.12
piṃḍakādyaṃ tatra muktvā tṛṣā praikṣi jalaṃ tadā..6..
having deposited their bundles and other luggage there, looked for water due to thirst.
1.4.62.13
tato bhīmaḥ kuṇḍamadhyaṃ jalaṃ pātuṃ viveśa ha ..
Then Bhīma stepped into the middle of the pool to drink water.
1.4.62.14
praviśaṃtaṃ ca taṃ prāha yudhiṣṭhira idaṃ vacaḥ ..7..
As he was entering, Yudhiṣṭhira spoke these words to him:
1.4.62.15
uddhṛtya bhīma toyaṃ tvaṃ pādau prakṣālya bho bahiḥ ..
“Bhīma, draw up the water and wash your feet outside,
1.4.62.16
tataḥ pibā'nyathā doṣo mahāṃstvāmupapatsyate .. 8 ..
and then drink; otherwise a great transgression will overtake you.”
1.4.62.17
etadrājño vaco bhīmastṛṣā vyākulalocanaḥ ..
Bhīma, his eyes bewildered by thirst,
1.4.62.18
aśrutvaiva viveśāsau kuṇḍamadhye jalecchayā .. 9 ..
without even listening to this word of the king, entered into the middle of the pool, desiring water.
1.4.62.19
sa ca dṛṣṭvā jalaṃ pātuṃ tatraiva kṛtaniścayaḥ ..
And having seen the water, determined to drink right there,
1.4.62.20
mukhaṃ hastau ca caraṇau kṣālayāmāsa śuddhaye .. 1.2.64.10 ..
he washed his face, hands, and feet for purification.
1.4.62.21
yataḥ pītaṃ jalaṃ puṃsāmaprakṣālya ca yadbhavet ..
Because whatever water is drunk by men without first washing [themselves],
1.4.62.22
pretāḥ piśācāstadrūpaṃ saṃkramya prapibaṃti tat .. 11 ..
ghosts and piśācas, entering that form, drink that up. // 11
1.4.62.23
evaṃ prakṣālayāne ca pādau tatra vṛkodare ..
While Vṛkodara (Bhīma) was thus washing his feet there,
1.4.62.24
uparisthastadā prāha satyaṃ suhṛdayo vacaḥ .. 12 ..
Suhṛdaya, standing above, then spoke these true words: // 12
1.4.62.25
durmate bhoḥ kimetattvaṃ kuruṣe pāpaniścayaḥ ..
"O evil-minded one, why are you doing this, bent on sin,
1.4.62.26
devīkuṇḍe kṣālayasi mukhaṃ pādau karau ca yat .. 13 ..
that you wash your face, feet, and hands in the Devīkuṇḍa? // 13
1.4.62.27
yato devī sadānena jalena snāpyate mayā ..
For the goddess is always bathed by me with this water.
1.4.62.28
datra prakṣipaṃstoyaṃ malapāpānna bibhyasi .. 14 ..
Throwing dirt into it, are you not afraid of the sin of defilement? // 14
1.4.62.29
malāktatoyaṃ yannāma aspṛśyaṃ tannarairapi ..
Water smeared with dirt is indeed untouchable even by human beings;
1.4.62.30
kuto devaiśca tatpāpaṃ spṛśyate tattvato vada .. 15 ..
how could that sin be touched by the gods? Speak truly! // 15
1.4.62.31
śīghraṃ ca tvaṃ niḥsarāsmātkuṇḍādbhūtvā bahiḥ piba ..
Quickly get out of this pool, stay outside, and drink.
1.4.62.32
yadyevaṃ pāpa mūḍho'si tīrtheṣu bhramase kutaḥ .. 16 ..
If you are so foolish and sinful, why do you wander in sacred fords?" // 16
1.4.62.33
.. bhīma uvāca .. ..
Bhīma said:
1.4.62.34
kimetadbhāṣase krūra paruṣaṃ rākṣasādhama ..
"Why do you speak such cruel, harsh words, lowest of rākṣasas?
1.4.62.35
yatastoyāni jaṃtūnāmupabho gārthameva hi .. 17 ..
For water exists solely for the use of living beings. // 17
1.4.62.36
tīrtheṣu kāryaṃ snānaṃ cetyuktaṃ munivarairapi ..
And it is declared by the best of sages that ritual ablution should be performed in sacred fords.
1.4.62.37
aṃgaprakṣālanaṃ snānamuktaṃ māṃ niṃdase kutaḥ .. 18 ..
Washing the limbs is called ritual ablution; why do you revile me? // 18
1.4.62.38
yadi na kriyate pānamaṃgaprakṣālanaṃ tathā ..
If drinking and washing the limbs are not done,
1.4.62.39
tatkimarthaṃ pūrtadharmāḥ kriyante dharmaśālibhiḥ .. 19 ..
then for what purpose are charitable works undertaken by righteous men?" // 19
1.4.62.40
.. suhṛdaya uvāca .. ..
Suhṛdaya said:
1.4.62.41
snātavyaṃ tīrthamukhyeṣu satyametanna saṃśayaḥ ..
"One must bathe in principal sacred fords; this is true, there is no doubt.
1.4.62.42
careṣu kiṃ tu saṃviśya sthāvareṣu bahiḥ sthitaḥ .. 1.2.64.20 ..
However, [it is done] by entering moving waters, but remaining outside in stationary waters. // 1.2.64.20
1.4.62.43
sthāvareṣvapi saṃviśya tanna snānaṃ vidhīyate ..
Even among stationary waters, ritual ablution is not prescribed by entering into them
1.4.62.44
na yatra devasnānārthaṃ bhaktaiḥ saṃgṛhyate jalam ..21..
where water is gathered by devotees for the ceremonial bath of a deity; // 21
1.4.62.45
yacca hastaśatādūrdhvaṃ sarastatra vidhīyate ..
and in a lake that is more than one hundred cubits across, it is prescribed there.
1.4.62.46
saṃveśe'pi kramaścāyaṃ pādau prakṣālya yadbahiḥ .. 22 ..
Even in entering, this is the rule: having washed the feet outside, // 22
1.4.62.47
tataḥ snānaṃ prakartavyamanyathā doṣa ucyate ..
then ritual ablution should be performed; otherwise, it is said to be a fault.
1.4.62.48
kiṃ na śrutastvayā proktaḥ ślokaḥ padmabhuvā purā .. 23 ..
Did you not hear the verse spoken by the lotus-born [Brahmā] in ancient times: // 23
1.4.62.49
malaṃ mūtraṃ purīṣaṃ ca śleṣma niṣṭhīnāśru ca ..
'Those who discharge filth, urine, feces, phlegm, spittle, tears,
1.4.62.50
gaṃḍūṣāścaiva muñcati ye te brahmahaṇaiḥ samāḥ .. 24 ..
and mouthfuls of rinsed water are equal to slayers of brahmins.' // 24
1.4.62.51
tasmānniḥsara śīghraṃ tvaṃ yadyevamajitendriyaḥ ..
Therefore, get out quickly. If you are so uncontrolled in your senses,
1.4.62.52
tatkimarthaṃ durācāra tīrtheṣvaṭasi bāliśa .. 25 ..
then why, O foolish, ill-behaved man, do you roam about in sacred fords? // 25
1.4.62.53
yasya hastau ca pādau ca manaścaiva susaṃyatam..
He whose hands, feet, and mind are well restrained,
1.4.62.54
nirvikārāḥ kriyāḥ sarvāḥ sa hi tīrthaphalaṃ labhet .. 26 ..
and all of whose actions are pure, obtains the fruit of a sacred ford." // 26
1.4.62.55
.. bhīma uvāca .. ..
Bhīma said:
1.4.62.56
adharmo vāpi dharmo'stu nirgaṃtuṃ naiva śaknuyām ..
"Let it be unrighteousness or righteousness, I cannot go out at all.
1.4.62.57
kṣudhā tṛṣā mayā nityaṃ vārituṃ naiva śakyate .. 27 ..
My hunger and thirst can never be restrained." // 27
1.4.62.58
.. suhṛdaya uvāca .. ..
Suhṛdaya said:
1.4.62.59
jīvitārthe bhavānkasmātpāpaṃ prakurute vada ..
"Why do you commit sin for the sake of life? Tell me!
1.4.62.60
kiṃ na śrutastvayā ślokaḥ śibinā yaḥ samīritaḥ .. 28 ..
Have you not heard the verse uttered by Śibi: // 28
1.4.62.61
muhūrtamapi jīveta naraḥ śuklena karmaṇā ..
'A man should live even for a moment by pure action;
1.4.62.62
na kalpamapi jīveta lokadvayavirodhinā .. 29 ..
he should not live even for a cosmic age by an action harmful to both worlds.'" // 29
1.4.62.63
.. bhīma uvāca .. ..
Bhīma said:
1.4.62.64
kākāraveṇa te mahyaṃ karṇau badhiratāṃ gatau ..
"My ears have become deaf from your cawing like a crow.
1.4.62.65
pāsyāmyeva jalaṃ cātra kāmaṃ vilapa śuṣya vā .. 1.2.64.30 ..
I will certainly drink the water here; lament as you please, or wither away!" // 1.2.64.30
1.4.62.66
.. suhṛdaya uvāca .. ..
Suhṛdaya said:
1.4.62.67
kṣatriyāṇāṃ kule jātastvahaṃ dharmābhirakṣiṇām ..
"I was born in the lineage of kṣatriyas, protectors of dharma.
1.4.62.68
tasmātte pātakaṃ kartuṃ na dāsyāmi kathaṃcana .. 31 ..
Therefore, I will by no means allow you to commit sin. // 31
1.4.62.69
tadvarākātha śīghraṃ tvamasmātkuṃḍādviniḥsara ..32..
So, wretched one, get out of this pool at once! // 32
1.4.62.70
iṣṭakāśakalaiḥ śīghraṃ cūrṇayiṣye'nyathā śiraḥ ..
Otherwise, I will quickly smash your head with pieces of brick."
1.4.62.71
ityuktvā ceṣṭakāṃ gṛhya mumoca śirasaḥ prati .. 33 ..
Having said this, he took a brick and hurled it at his head. // 33
1.4.62.72
bhīmaśca vaṃcayitvā tāmutplutya bahirāvrajat ..
Bhīma, dodging it, leaped out and came forward.
1.4.62.73
bhartsayaṃtau tataścobhāvanyonyaṃ bhīmavikramau .. 34 ..
Then the two of formidable prowess, threatening each other, // 34
1.4.62.74
yuyudhāte pralaṃbābhyāṃ bāhubhyāṃ yuddhapāragau ..
both masters of combat, fought with their long arms;
1.4.62.75
vyūḍhoraskau dīrghabhujau niyuddhakuśalāvubhau .. 35 ..
both broad-chested, long-armed, and skilled in wrestling, // 35
1.4.62.76
muṣṭibhiḥ pārṣṇighātaiśca jānubhiścābhijaghnatuḥ ..
they struck each other with fists, kicks from their heels, and knees.
1.4.62.77
tato muhūrtātkauravyaḥ paryahīyata pāṃḍavaḥ .. 36 ..
Then, after a moment, the Pāṇḍava, scion of the Kurus, began to weaken. // 36
1.4.62.78
hīyamānastato bhīma udyato'bhūtpunaḥ punaḥ ..
Losing ground, Bhīma rose up again and again.
1.4.62.79
ahīyata tato'pyaṃga vavṛdhe barbarīkakaḥ .. 37 ..
He was worn down further, my dear, while Barbarīka grew stronger. // 37
1.4.62.80
tato bhīmaṃ samutpāṭya barbarīko balādiva ..
Then Barbarīka, uprooting Bhīma as if by sheer force,
1.4.62.81
niṣpipeṣa tataḥ kruddhastadadbhutamivābhavat .. 38 ..
Then, enraged, he crushed him, and it was like a wonder.
1.4.62.82
mūrchitaṃ caivamādāya visphurantaṃ punaḥpunaḥ ..
And taking him thus unconscious, trembling again and again,
1.4.62.83
sāgarāya pracalitaḥ kṣeptuṃ tatra mahāṃbhasi .. 39 ..
he set out for the ocean to throw him into its deep water.
1.4.62.84
dadṛśuḥ pāṃḍavā naitaddevyā nayanayaṃtritāḥ .. 1.2.64.40 ..
The Pāṇḍavas did not see this, their eyes constrained by the goddess.
1.4.62.85
tathā gṛhīte kuruvīramukhye vīreṇa tenādbhutavikrameṇa ..
When the foremost hero of the Kurus was thus seized by that hero of wondrous prowess,
1.4.62.86
āścaryamāsīddivi devatānāṃ devībhirākāśatale nirīkṣya tam .. 41 ..
there was amazement in heaven among the gods, after seeing him in the vault of the sky with the goddesses.
1.4.62.87
sāgarasya tatastīre barbarīkaṃ gataṃ tadā ..
Then, seeing Barbarīka gone to the shore of the ocean at that time,
1.4.62.88
nirīkṣya bhagavānrudro viyatsthaḥ samabhāṣata .. 42 ..
the blessed Rudra, standing in the sky, addressed him:
1.4.62.89
bhobho rākṣasaśārdūla barbarīka mahābala ..
“O tiger among rākṣasas, O mighty Barbarīka,
1.4.62.90
muṃcainaṃ bharataśreṣṭhaṃ bhīmaṃ tava pitāmaham .. 43 ..
release this best of the Bharatas, Bhīma, your grandfather!
1.4.62.91
ayaṃ hi tīrthayātrāyāṃ vicaranbhrātṛbhiryutaḥ ..
For wandering on a pilgrimage to sacred fords, joined by his brothers,
1.4.62.92
kṛṣṇayā cāpyadastīrthaṃ snātumevābhyupāyayau .. 44 ..
and by Kṛṣṇā, he came to this sacred ford merely to bathe.
1.4.62.93
sammānaṃ sarvathā tasmādarhaḥ kauravanaṃdanaḥ ..
Therefore, the delight of the Kurus is in every way worthy of honor.
1.4.62.94
apāpo vā sapāpo vā pūjya eva pitāmahaḥ .. 45 ..
Whether sinless or sinful, a grandfather is surely to be worshipped.”
1.4.62.95
.. sūta uvāca .. ..
Sūta said:
1.4.62.96
iti rudravacaḥ śrutvā sahasā taṃ vimucya saḥ ..
Hearing this speech of Rudra, he quickly released him,
1.4.62.97
nyapatatpādayorhā dhikkaṣṭaṃ kaṣṭaṃ ca prāha saḥ .. 46 ..
fell at his feet, and said: “Alas! Woe! Woe!”
1.4.62.98
kṣamyatāṃ kṣamyatāṃ ceti punaḥ punaravocata ..
And he said again and again: “Forgive me! Forgive me!”
1.4.62.99
śiraśca tāḍayansvīyaṃ ruroda ca muhurmuhuḥ .. 47 ..
and striking his own head, he wept repeatedly.
1.4.62.100
taṃ tathā pariśocaṃtaṃ muhyamānaṃ muhurmuhuḥ ..
As he was grieving thus, fainting again and again,
1.4.62.101
bhīmasenaḥ samāliṃgya āghrāya ca vaco'bravīt .. 48 ..
Bhīmasena embraced him, smelled [his head], and spoke these words:
1.4.62.102
vayaṃ tvāṃ naiva jānīmastvaṃ cāsmāñjanmakālataḥ ..
“We do not know you, nor do you know us from the time of your birth.
1.4.62.103
atra vāsaśca te putra bhaimeḥ kṛṣṇācca saṃśrutaḥ .. 49 ..
And your dwelling here, O son, was heard from Ghaṭotkaca and from Kṛṣṇa.
1.4.62.104
paraṃ no vismṛtaṃ sarvaṃ nānāduḥkhaiḥ pramuhyatām ..
Yet all was forgotten by us, bewildered by various sorrows;
1.4.62.105
duḥkhitānāṃ yataḥ sarvā smṛtirluptā bhavetsphuṭam .. 1.2.64.50 ..
for all memory is clearly lost in the sorrowful.
1.4.62.106
tadasmākamidaṃ duḥkhaṃ sarvakālavidhānataḥ ..
Therefore, this sorrow of ours is due to the ordinance of all-controlling Time.
1.4.62.107
mā śocastvaṃ ca tanaya na te doṣo'sti cāṇvapi .. 51 ..
Do not grieve, my son; there is not even an atom of fault in you.
1.4.62.108
yataḥ sarvaḥ kṣatriyasya daṃḍyo vipathisaṃsthi taḥ ..
For anyone standing on a wrong path is to be punished by a kṣatriya.
1.4.62.109
ātmāpidaṃḍyaḥ sādhūnāṃ pravṛttaḥ kupathādyadi .. 52 ..
Even one’s own self is to be punished by the virtuous if it has set out on an evil path—
1.4.62.110
pitṛmātṛsuhṛdbhrātṛputrādīnāṃ kimucyate ..
what to speak of father, mother, friend, brother, son, and the like?
1.4.62.111
atīva mama harṣo'yaṃ dhanyohaṃ pūrvajāśca me .. .. 53 ..
Great is this joy of mine; blessed am I, and blessed are my ancestors,
1.4.62.112
yasya tvīdṛśakaḥ pautro dharmajño dharmapālakaḥ ..
who have such a grandson, knower of dharma and protector of dharma!
1.4.62.113
varārhastvaṃ praśaṃsārho bhavānyeṣāṃ satāṃ tathā .. 54 ..
You are worthy of a boon, worthy of praise; be so among other good men as well.
1.4.62.114
tasmācchokaṃ vihāyemaṃ svastho bhavi tumarhasi .. 55 ..
Therefore, abandoning this grief, you should become composed.”
1.4.62.115
barbarīka uvāca .. ..
Barbarīka said:
1.4.62.116
pāpaṃ māṃ tātatāta tvaṃ brahmaghnādapi kutsitam ..
“O grandfather, a sinner viler even than the killer of a brahmin,
1.4.62.117
apraśasyaṃ nārhasīha draṣṭuṃ spraṣṭumapi prabho .. 56 ..
unpraiseworthy—you ought not even to look at me or touch me here, O lord.
1.4.62.118
sarveṣāmeva pāpānāṃ niṣkṛtiḥ procyate budhaiḥ ..
Expiation is proclaimed by the wise for all sins whatsoever;
1.4.62.119
pitrorabhaktasya punarniṣkṛtirnaiva vidyate .. 57 ..
yet for one who has no devotion to his parents, no expiation exists.
1.4.62.120
tadyena dehena mayā tātatāto'bhipīḍitaḥ ..
Therefore, with that very body by which I tormented my grandfather,
1.4.62.121
tattvameva samutsrakṣye mahīsāgarasaṃgame .. 58 ..
I will cast it off right now at the confluence of the Mahī and the ocean,
1.4.62.122
maivaṃ bhaveyamanyeṣu api janmasu pātakī ..
lest I become a sinner in other births too.
1.4.62.123
na māmasmādabhiprāyādarhaḥ ko'pi nivartitum .. 59 ..
No one ought to turn me back from this resolve,
1.4.62.124
yatoṃ'śena vilupyeta prāyaścittānnivārakaḥ ..
since one who prevents [another] from expiation is stained by a portion [of the sin].”
1.4.62.125
evamuktvā samutplutya yayau caivārṇavaṃ balī .. 1.2.64.60 ..
Having spoken thus, the mighty one leapt up and went straight to the ocean.
1.4.62.126
samudro'pi cakaṃpe ca kathamenaṃ nihanmyaham ..
Even the ocean trembled, [thinking:] “How shall I kill him?”
1.4.62.127
tataḥ siddhāṃbikāyāśca devyastatra caturdaśa .. 61 ..
Then the fourteen goddesses of Siddhāmbikā there,
1.4.62.128
samāliṃgya ca saṃsthāpya rudreṇa sahitā jaguḥ ..
embracing and steadying him, spoke together with Rudra:
1.4.62.129
ajñātavihite pāpe nāsti vīreṃdra kalmaṣam .. 62 ..
“When a sin is committed unwittingly, O chief of heroes, there is no guilt.
1.4.62.130
śāstreṣūktamidaṃ vākyaṃ nānyathā kartumarhasi ..
This statement is declared in the scriptures; you must not do otherwise.
1.4.62.131
amuṃ ca pṛṣṭhalagnaṃ tvaṃ paśya bhoḥ svaṃ pitāmaham .. 63 ..
And behold your own grandfather following close behind you,
1.4.62.132
putraputreti bhāṣaṃtamanu tvā maraṇonmukham ..
calling ‘O grandson! O grandson!’ and ready to die after you.
1.4.62.133
adhunā cetsvakaṃ dehaṃ vīra tvaṃ parityakṣyasi .. 64 ..
If you now cast off your own body, O hero,
1.4.62.134
tatastyakṣyati bhīmo'pi pātakaṃ tanmahattava ..
then Bhīma also will abandon [his]; that great sin would be yours.
1.4.62.135
evaṃ jñātvā dhāraya tvaṃ svaśarīraṃ mahāmate .. 65 ..
Knowing this, preserve your body, O wise one!
1.4.62.136
atha cettyaktukāmastvaṃ tatrāpi vacanaṃ śṛṇu ..
Or, if you still desire to cast it off, hear our word in that regard too:
1.4.62.137
svalpenaiva ca kālena kṛṣṇāddevakinaṃdanāt .. 66 ..
In only a short time, from Kṛṣṇa, the son of Devakī,
1.4.62.138
dehapātastava proktastaṃ pratīkṣa yadīccha si ..
the fall of your body is foretold; wait for that, if you wish.
1.4.62.139
yato viṣṇukarādvatsa dehapāto viśiṣyate .. 67 ..
For the fall of the body from the hand of Viṣṇu, O dear child, is supreme.
1.4.62.140
tasmātpratīkṣa taṃ kālamasmākaṃ prārthitena ca ..
Therefore, wait for that time, requested also by us.”
1.4.62.141
evamukto nivavṛte barbarīko'pi durmanāḥ .. 68 ..
Addressed thus, Barbarīka too turned back despondent in mind.
1.4.62.142
rudraṃ devīśca cāmuṃḍāṃ sopālaṃbhaṃ vaco'bravīt ..
To Rudra, the Goddesses, and Cāmuṇḍā, he spoke a reproachful word:
1.4.62.143
tvameva devi jānāsi rakṣyate śārṅgadhanvinā .. 69 ..
"O Goddess, you yourself know that [the Pāṇḍavas] are protected by the Wielder of the Śārṅga Bow;
1.4.62.144
pāṃḍavā bhūmilābhārthe tatte kasmādupekṣitam ..
The Pāṇḍavas [are protected] for the purpose of winning the earth. Why then was that disregarded by you,
1.4.62.145
tvayā ca samupāgatya rakṣito'yaṃ vṛkodaraḥ .. 1.2.64.70 ..
And approaching, this Vṛkodara was protected by you?"
1.4.62.146
.. devyuvāca .. ..
The Goddess said:
1.4.62.147
ahaṃ ca rakṣayiṣyāmi svabhaktaṃ kṛṣṇamṛtyutaḥ ..
