tasyaiva pūrvadigbhāge lakulīśastu mūrtimān ..
svayaṃ tiṣṭhati deveśi kṛtvā ghoraṃ tapaḥ purā .. 1 ..
Īśvara said: / To the east of that very [liṅga], Lakulīśa himself, embodied, / stands, O queen of the gods, having performed fierce austerity in ancient times. 1

saṃsthitaḥ pāpaśamane tatra sthāne sthalopari ..
kārtikyāṃ kṛttikāyoge yastaṃ pūjayate naraḥ .. 2 ..
He is stationed on the high ground at that place, destroying sin. / Whosoever worships him on the full moon of Kārttika under the asterism Kṛttikā, 2
