taṃ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi koṭihatyāṃ vyapohati.. 1 ..
Īśvara said: / Next, O great goddess, one should go to the unsurpassed Gupheśvara / to the north of the Hiraṇyā, the destroyer of all sins. / Having seen him, O goddess, a mortal dispels ten million murders.

iti śrīskānde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ saptame prabhāsakhaṇḍe prathame prabhāsakṣetramāhātmye gupheśvaramāhātmyavarṇanaṃnāma tripañcāśaduttaradviśatatamo'dhyāyaḥ ..253..
