Īśvara said: / Then, having obtained the boon there, fulfilled in his purpose, full of devotion, / that Gandharva Ghanavāhana installed a liṅga / to the north of Someśa, near Daṇḍapāṇi, / named Gandharveśvara, which bestows the fruit of the Gandharva state. 2.

varadāvāruṇe bhāge dhanuṣāṃ pañcake sthitam..
pañcamyāṃ pūjayitvā ca na duḥkhī jāyate naraḥ..
iti śrī skānde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ saptame prabhāsakhaṇḍe prathame prabhāsakṣetramāhātmye gandharveśvaramāhātmyavarṇanaṃnāma ṣaḍviṃśatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ .. 26 ..
It stands five bow-lengths to the western side of Varadā. / Having worshipped it on the fifth lunar day, a man does not suffer misery. / Thus ends the twenty-sixth chapter, named 'Description of the Māhātmya of Gandharveśvara,' in the first Māhātmya of Prabhāsa-kṣetra, in the seventh section, Prabhāsakhaṇḍa, of the venerable Skanda-Mahāpurāṇa, a collection of eighty-one thousand [verses]. 26.
