tasmāttaṃ pūrvadigbhāge kṣetrapaṃ liṃgarūpiṇam .. 1 ..
Īśvara said: / Then one should go, O great goddess, to the one celebrated as Kālamegha; / to the eastern side from there, to the guardian of the field in the form of a liṅga. / 1

aṣṭamyāṃ vā caturddaśyāṃ pūjyo'sau balibhirnaraiḥ ..
vāṃchitārthapradaḥ samyaksa kalau kalpapādapaḥ .. 2 ..
On the eighth or the fourteenth [tithi], he is to be worshiped by men with offerings. / He completely bestows desired wishes; in the Kali age, he is a wish-fulfilling tree. / 2
