tato gacchenmahādevi tasmādvai kauraveśvarīm ..
yasya nāmnā kurukṣetraṃ tena sārādhitā purā .. 1 ..
Īśvara said: / Then, O great goddess, from there one should go indeed to Kauraveśvarī, / worshipped in ancient times by him after whose name Kurukṣetra [is called]. 1

ārādhitā'sau bhīmena kṛtvā kṣetrasya rakṣaṇam ..
mahānavamyāṃ yatnena yastāṃ pūjayate naraḥ ..
taṃ putramiva kalyāṇī rakṣate nātra saṃśayaḥ .. 2 ..
She was worshipped by Bhīma after protecting the sacred field. / Whatever man worships her with effort on the Mahānavamī, / the auspicious goddess protects him like a son, there is no doubt here. 2

bhojanaṃ tatra dātavyaṃ daṃpatīnāṃ na saṃśayaḥ ..
divyairbhakṣyaiḥ sumiṣṭānnaiḥ sā tuṣyati tataḥ stutā .. 3 ..
Food should certainly be given to married couples there; / with divine delicacies and very sweet food she is pleased when praised thereafter. 3
