Skandapurana 16.60

Īśvara said: / O fair-complexioned one, I shall now declare to you / the triad of female messengers of the Prabhāsakṣetra; listen with single-minded focus, my dear.

The first is the goddess Maṅgalā, and the second is Viśālākṣī; / likewise, the goddess Catvarapriyā is proclaimed to be the third.

These Śaktis should be worshipped in their proper order, O lovely-faced one, / if a person desires to obtain the fruit of the pilgrimage to Prabhāsakṣetra.

The Devī said: / In what place are those messengers who guard the sacred field situated, O God? / To whom do they belong, how are they to be propitiated, and how worshipped, O Lord of the universe?

Īśvara said: / Maṅgalā is proclaimed to be Brāhmī, and Viśālākṣī is Vaiṣṇavī; / that goddess fond of crossroads is declared to be the Raudrī Śakti.

Maṅgalā, situated to the north of Ajādevī, is to be worshipped first; / she is on the southern side of Rāhvīśa, not very far away, O fair-faced one.

When Someśvara had been consecrated and the sacrificial rite begun / by Soma, she came there eager to see the gods.

And because she brought auspiciousness to Brahmā and the others, O Umā, / therefore she is proclaimed Maṅgalā, the giver of all auspiciousness.

Whatever woman or man worships her on the third lunar day, / all their inauspicious misfortunes will go to destruction.

Feeding a married couple, gifting fruit along with a bodice, / and sipping ghee mixed with curd—which destroys sin—are commended there.

Thus has been declared in brief the great glory, conferring great prosperity, / and the māhātmya of Maṅgalā, which destroys all sins.

Thus ends the sixtieth chapter, titled 'Description of the Māhātmya of Maṅgalā', in the first [part], the Prabhāsakṣetramāhātmya, of the seventh [section], the Prabhāsakhaṇḍa, in the glorious Skandapurāṇa consisting of eighty-one thousand verses.
