16.71.1
tato gacchenmahādevi liṃgaṃ tatraiva saṃsthitam ..
dakṣiṇe varuṇeśasya dhanuṣāṃ tritaye sthitam ..1..
Then, O great goddess, one should go to the liṅga situated right there, / situated three bow-lengths to the south of Varuṇeśa.
16.71.2
bhāryayā varuṇasyaiva uṣā nāmnyā varānane ..
kṛtvā tapo mahāghoraṃ bhartṛduḥkhaparītayā .. 2 ..
By the wife of Varuṇa named Uṣā, O fair-faced one, / having performed very terrible austerity when overcome with sorrow for her husband,
16.71.3
sthāpitaṃ tu mahalliṃgaṃ sarvasiddhipradāyakam..
uṣeśvareti vikhyātaṃ sarvasiddhiprapūjitam ..3..
the great liṅga was established, which grants all perfections, / renowned as Uṣeśvara and worshipped by all the perfected ones.

yastatpūjayate bhaktyā liṃgaṃ pāpapraṇāśanam ..
mahāpāpaughayukto'pi sa gacchetparamāṃ gatim ..4..
He who worships with devotion that liṅga which destroys sin, / even though laden with a multitude of great sins, goes to the supreme state.
16.71.5
strīṇāṃ saubhāgyaphaladaṃ duḥkhadaurbhāgyanā śanam .. 5 ..
It yields the fruit of good fortune for women, and destroys grief and misfortune.

iti śrīskāṃde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ saptame prabhāsakhaṇḍe prathame prabhāsakṣetramāhātmya uṣeśvaramāhātmyavarṇanaṃ nāmaikasaptatitamo'dhyāyaḥ .. 71 ..
Thus ends the seventy-first chapter, named 'The Description of the Māhātmya of Uṣeśvara,' in the first [part], the Prabhāsakṣetramāhātmya, in the seventh [section], the Prabhāsakhaṇḍa, in the glorious Skanda Mahāpurāṇa containing eighty-one thousand verses.
