went into the presence of the king to report to Svanaya.
3.1.17.14
rājānaṃ taṃ samāsādya svanayaṃ sa sudarśanaḥ ..
Having approached King Svanaya, that Sudarśana

ubhau tau muniśārdūlau sarvalokeṣu viśrutau .. 15 ..
and he too [inquired after] that eminent sage.

ityuktaḥ svanayo rājā gatvā svapaṭamaṇḍapam .. 3.1.17.20 ..
Addressed thus, King Svanaya went to his tent pavilion,
3.1.17.41

kakṣīvaṃtaṃ samāyāṃtaṃ dṛṣṭvā svodvāhanotsukam ..
seeing Kakṣīvant approaching, eager for his marriage,

kṛtvāgnimukhaparyaṃtaṃ lājāhomādikaṃ tathā .. 41 ..
having performed [the rites] up to the consecration of the fire and the offering of parched grain,

3.1.17.109
sevanvedāṭavīnāthaṃ bhuktimuktiphalapradam ..
Serving the Lord of the Vedāraṇya, who grants the fruits of enjoyment and liberation,
3.1.17.110
nyavasattu ciraṃ kālaṃ kakṣīvānapi bhāryayā .. 55 ..
Kakṣīvat also lived for a long time with his wife.
3.1.17.111
svanayopi sa rājarṣiḥ snātvā kuṃbhajanirmite ..
The royal seer Svanaya too, having bathed in the [ford] made by the jar-born [Agastya],

tatra tīrthe mahāpuṇye sahitaḥ sarvasainikaiḥ .. 56 ..
at that highly sacred ford, accompanied by all his soldiers,

a marriage difficult for anyone else to obtain took place for the sage Kakṣīvat, O brahmins.

This holy narrative, O best of sages, is established in the Vedas;

For those who recite and hear this ancient narrative,
