3.1.24.1
.. śrīsūta uvāca .. ..
The venerable Sūta said:
3.1.24.2
cakratīrthe naraḥ snātvā śivatīrthaṃ tato vrajet ..
Having bathed at Cakratīrtha, a man should then proceed to Śivatīrtha,
3.1.24.3
yatra hi snānamātreṇa mahāpātakakoṭayaḥ .. 1 ..
where, by mere ritual ablution, tens of millions of heinous sins
3.1.24.4
tatsaṃsargāśca naśyaṃti tatkṣaṇādeva tāpasāḥ ..
and associations with them are destroyed that very moment, O ascetics.
3.1.24.5
atra snātvā brahmahatyāṃ mumuce kālabhairavaḥ .. 2 ..
Having bathed here, Kālabhairava was released from the sin of killing a brahmin.
3.1.24.6
.. ṛṣaya ūcuḥ .. ..
The seers said:
3.1.24.7
kālabhairavarudrasya brahmahatyā mahāmune ..
How did the killing of a brahmin come upon Kālabhairava Rudra, O great sage?
3.1.24.8
kimarthamabhavatsūta tanno vaktumihārhasi .. 3 ..
For what reason did it occur, O Sūta? You ought to tell us that here.
3.1.24.9
.. śrīsūta uvāca .. ..
Śrī Sūta said:
3.1.24.10
vakṣyāmi munayaḥ sarve purāvṛttaṃ vimuktidam ..
All sages, I will relate an ancient event that grants liberation,
3.1.24.11
yasya śravaṇamātreṇa sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate .. 4 ..
By the mere hearing of which one is freed from all sins. // 4
3.1.24.12
prajāpateśca viṣṇośca babhūva kalahaḥ purā ..
Formerly, a dispute arose between Prajāpati [Brahmā] and Viṣṇu
3.1.24.13
kiṃcitkāraṇamuddiśya samastajanasannidhau .. 5 ..
Over a certain matter, in the presence of all beings: // 5
3.1.24.14
ahameva jagatkartā nānyaḥ kartāsti kaścana ..
"I alone am the creator of the universe; there is no other creator whatsoever.
3.1.24.15
ahaṃ sarvaprapaṃcānāṃ nigrahānugrahapradaḥ .. 6 ..
I am the bestower of restraint and grace upon all the manifold creations. // 6
3.1.24.16
matto nāstyadhikaḥ kaścinmatsamo vā sureṣvapi ..
There is no one superior to me, nor equal to me, even among the gods."
3.1.24.17
evaṃ sa manute brahmā devānāṃ sannidhau purā .. 7 ..
Thus did Brahmā think in the presence of the gods in former times. // 7
3.1.24.18
tadā nārāyaṇaḥ prāha prahasandvijapuṃgavāḥ ..
Then Nārāyaṇa, laughing, spoke, O best of twice-born [sages]:
3.1.24.19
kimarthamevaṃ brūṣe tvamahaṃkāreṇa sāṃpratam .. 8 ..
"Why do you speak thus now out of egoism? // 8
3.1.24.20
vākyamevaṃvidhaṃ bhūyo vaktuṃ nārhasi vai vidhe ..
You ought not to utter such words again, O Vidhi [Brahmā].
3.1.24.21
ahameva jagatkartā yajño nārāyaṇo vibhuḥ .. 9 ..
I alone am the creator of the world, sacrifice [itself], Nārāyaṇa, the omnipresent lord. // 9
3.1.24.22
māṃ vināsya prapañcasya jīvanaṃ durlabhaṃ bhavet ..
Without me, the existence of this universe would be impossible.
3.1.24.23
matprasādājjagatsṛṣṭaṃ tvayā sthāvarajaṃgamam .. 3.1.24.10 ..
By my grace has this world, both motionless and moving, been created by you." // 10
3.1.24.24
vivādaṃ kurvatorevaṃ brahmaviṣṇvorjayaiṣiṇoḥ ..
While Brahmā and Viṣṇu, each seeking victory, were thus disputing,
3.1.24.25
devānāṃ puratastatra vedāścatvāra āgatāḥ ..
The four Vedas came there before the gods
3.1.24.26
procurvākyamidaṃ tathyaṃ paramārthaprakāśakam ..1 1..
And spoke these true words, revealing the ultimate reality. // 11
3.1.24.27
.. vedā ūcuḥ .. ..
The Vedas said:
3.1.24.28
tvaṃ viṣṇo na jagatkartā na tvaṃ brahmanprajāpate .. 12 ..
"You, O Viṣṇu, are not the creator of the universe, nor are you, O Brahmā Prajāpati! // 12
3.1.24.29
kiṃ tvīśvaro jagatkartā parātparataro vibhuḥ ..
Rather, Īśvara is the creator of the universe, higher than the highest, the all-pervading lord.
3.1.24.30
tanmāyāśaktisaṃklṛptamidaṃ sthāvarajaṃgamam .. 13 ..
This world of moving and motionless things has been fashioned by his power of Māyā. // 13
3.1.24.31
sarvadevābhivaṃdyo hi sāṃbaḥ satyādilakṣaṇaḥ ..
Indeed, Sāmba, characterized by truth and other virtues, is worthy of reverence by all gods;
3.1.24.32
sraṣṭā ca pālako hartā sa eva jagatāṃ prabhuḥ ..14..
He alone is the creator, protector, and destroyer, the lord of the worlds." // 14
3.1.24.33
evaṃ samīritaṃ vedaiḥ śrutvā vākyaṃ śubhākṣaram..
Having heard those words composed of auspicious syllables uttered by the Vedas,
3.1.24.34
brahmā viṣṇustadā tatra procaturdvijapuṃgavāḥ..15..
Brahmā and Viṣṇu then said there, O best of twice-born [sages]: // 15
3.1.24.35
..brahmaviṣṇū ūcatuḥ.. ..
Brahmā and Viṣṇu said:
3.1.24.36
pārvatyāliṃgitaḥ śaṃbhurmūrtimānpramathādhipaḥ..
"Embraced by Pārvatī, embodied, the master of the Pramathas—
3.1.24.37
kathaṃ bhavetparaṃ brahma sarvasaṃgavivarjitam..16..
How can Śambhu be the supreme Brahman, free from all attachment?" // 16
3.1.24.38
tābhyāmitīrite tatra praṇavaḥ prāha tau tadā ..
When this was spoken by the two, the Praṇava (Oṃkāra) then spoke to them,
3.1.24.39
arūpo rūpamādāya mahatā dhvaninā dvijāḥ ..17.. ..
Though formless, having assumed a form, with a mighty voice, O twice-born: // 17
3.1.24.40
.. praṇava uvāca .. ..
The Praṇava said:
3.1.24.41
asau śaṃbhurmahādevaḥ pārvatyā svātiriktayā ..
"This Śambhu, Mahādeva, never sports with a Pārvatī
3.1.24.42
saṃkrīḍate kadācinno kiṃ tu svātmasvarūpayā .. 18 ..
Who is distinct from himself, but with one who is of his own essential nature. // 18
3.1.24.43
asau śaṃbhuranīśānaḥ svaprakāśo niraṃjanaḥ ..
This Śambhu has no ruler above him (anīśāna), self-luminous, taintless;
3.1.24.44
viśvādhiko mahādevo viśvādhika iti śrutaḥ .. 19 ..
Mahādeva transcends the universe; he is declared in scripture as 'transcending the universe.' // 19
3.1.24.45
sarvātmā sarvakartāsau svatantraḥ sarvabhāvanaḥ ..
He is the self of all, the maker of all, independent, the cause of the being of all.
3.1.24.46
brahmannayaṃ sṛṣṭikāle tvāṃ niyuṃkte rajoguṇaiḥ .. 3.1.24.20 ..
O Brahmā, at the time of creation he appoints you by means of the quality of rajas. // 20
3.1.24.47
sattvena rakṣaṇe śaṃbhustvāṃ preṣayati keśava ..
O Keśava, Śambhu sends you forth with the quality of sattva for the purpose of protection,
3.1.24.48
tamasā kālarudrākhyaṃ saṃprerayati saṃhṛtau .. 21 ..
And he directs the one named Kālarudra with tamas at the time of dissolution. // 21
3.1.24.49
ataḥ svatantratā viṣṇo yuvayorna kadācana ..
Therefore, O Viṣṇu, there is never independence for you two,
3.1.24.50
nāpi prajāpaterasti kiṃ tu śaṃbhoḥ svatantratā .. 22 ..
Nor is it Prajāpati's; rather, independence belongs to Śambhu alone. // 22
3.1.24.51
brahmanviṣṇo yuvābhyāṃ tu kimarthaṃ na maheśvaraḥ ..
O Brahmā, O Viṣṇu, why indeed is Maheśvara not recognized
3.1.24.52
jñāyate sarvalokānāṃ kartā viśvādhikastathā .. 23 ..
By you two as the creator of all worlds and likewise surpassing the universe? // 23
3.1.24.53
sāpi śaktirumā devī na pṛthakchaṃkarātsadā ..
Even that power, the goddess Umā, is never separate from Śaṃkara;
3.1.24.54
śaṃbhorānaṃdabhūtā sā devī nāgaṃtukī smṛtā .. .. 24 ..
The goddess consists of the bliss of Śambhu; she is not considered incidental. // 24
3.1.24.55
ato viśvādhiko rudraḥ svataṃtro nirvikalpakaḥ ..
Therefore Rudra transcends the universe, independent, free from conceptual distinction;
3.1.24.56
sarvadevairayaṃ vandyo yuvābhyāmapi śaṃkaraḥ .. 25 ..
This Śaṃkara is to be worshipped by all gods, and by both of you as well. // 25
3.1.24.57
kartā nāsyāsti rudrasya nādhiko'smācca vidyate ..
There is no maker of this Rudra, nor is anyone found superior to him;
3.1.24.58
na tatsamo'pi lokeṣu vidyate śataśastathā .. 26 ..
Nor is an equal to him found across hundreds of worlds. // 26
3.1.24.59
ato mohaṃ na kurutaṃ brahmaviṣṇo yuvāṃ vṛthā ..
Therefore, do not maintain delusion in vain, O Brahmā and Viṣṇu!"
3.1.24.60
ityuktaṃ praṇavenātha śrutvā brahmā ca keśavaḥ .. 27 ..
Having heard what was thus spoken by the Praṇava, Brahmā and Keśava, // 27
3.1.24.61
māyayā mohitau śaṃbhornaivājñānamamuṃcatām ..
Deluded by the Māyā of Śambhu, did not cast off their ignorance at all.
3.1.24.62
etasminnaṃtare brahmā pradadarśa mahādbhutam .. 28 ..
In the meantime, Brahmā beheld a great wonder: // 28
3.1.24.63
vyāpnuvadgaganaṃ sarvamanaṃtāditya sannibham ..
Pervading the entire sky, resembling countless suns,
3.1.24.64
tejomaṇḍalamākāśamadhyagaṃ viśvatomukham .. 29 ..
An orb of light standing in the midst of the atmosphere, facing in all directions. // 29
3.1.24.65
tannirūpayituṃ brahmā sasarjordhvagataṃ mukham ..
In order to examine it, Brahmā emitted an upward-facing head;
3.1.24.66
tapobalavisṛṣṭena paṃcamena mukhena saḥ .. .. 3.1.24.30 ..
With that fifth head created by the power of his austerity, he, // 30
3.1.24.67
nirūpayāmāsa vibhustattejomaṇḍalaṃ muhuḥ ..
The lord, continuously examined that orb of light.
3.1.24.68
tatprajajvāla kopena mukhaṃ tejovilokanāt..31..
That face flared up with anger from gazing upon that light. // 31
3.1.24.69
anaṃtādityasaṃkāśaṃ jvalattatpaṃcamaṃ śiraḥ ..
Resembling endless suns, that fifth head was blazing;
3.1.24.70
didhakṣuḥ pralaye lokānvaḍavāgnirivābabhau .. 32 ..
it shone like the submarine fire desiring to burn the worlds at the cosmic dissolution. // 32
3.1.24.71
vyadṛśyata ca tattejaḥ puruṣo nīlalohitaḥ ..
And from that splendour was seen a blue-and-red person.
3.1.24.72
dṛṣṭvā sraṣṭā tadā brahmā babhāṣe parameśvaram .. 33 ..
Seeing [him], Brahmā the creator then spoke to Parameśvara: // 33
3.1.24.73
vedāhaṃ tvāṃ mahādeva lalāṭānme purā bhavān ..
“I know you, Mahādeva. Formerly you
3.1.24.74
vinirgato'si śaṃbho tvaṃ rudranāmā mamātmajaḥ .. 34 ..
came forth from my forehead, O Śambhu, my son named Rudra.” // 34
3.1.24.75
iti garveṇa saṃyuktaṃ vacaḥ śrutvā maheśvaraḥ ..
Hearing this speech filled with arrogance, Maheśvara
3.1.24.76
kālabhairavanāmānaṃ puruṣaṃ prāhiṇottadā .. 35 ..
then sent forth a person named Kālabhairava. // 35
3.1.24.77
ayuddhyata ciraṃ kālaṃ brahmaṇā kālabhairavaḥ ..
Kālabhairava fought for a long time with Brahmā—
3.1.24.78
mahādevāṃśasaṃbhūtaḥ śūlaṭaṃkagadādharaḥ .. .. 36 ..
he who arose as a portion of Mahādeva, bearing a trident, a chisel, and a mace. // 36
3.1.24.79
yuddhvā tu suciraṃ kālaṃ brahmaṇā kālabhairavaḥ ..
Having fought for a very long time with Brahmā, Kālabhairava
3.1.24.80
vadanaṃ brahmaṇaḥ śubhraṃ vyalokayata paṃcamam .. 37 ..
looked upon the bright fifth face of Brahmā. // 37
3.1.24.81
vilokyordhvagataṃ vaktraṃ pañcamaṃ bhāratīpateḥ ..
Beholding the upward-facing fifth mouth of the husband of Bhāratī
3.1.24.82
garveṇa mahatā yuktaṃ prajajvālātikopitaḥ .. 38 ..
filled with immense pride, he blazed forth, exceedingly enraged. // 38
3.1.24.83
tatastatpaṃcamaṃ vaktraṃ bhairavaḥ prācchinadruṣā ..
Then Bhairava severed that fifth head in fury.
3.1.24.84
tato mamāra brahmā'sau kālabhairavahiṃsitaḥ .. .. 39 ..
Thereupon that Brahmā died, slain by Kālabhairava. // 39
3.1.24.85
īśvarasya prasādena prapede jīvitaṃ punaḥ ..
By the grace of Īśvara, he regained life once more.
3.1.24.86
tato vilokayāmāsa śaṃkaraṃ śaśibhūṣaṇam .. 3.1.24.40 ..
Then he looked upon Śaṃkara, adorned with the moon, // 40
3.1.24.87
vāsukyādyaṣṭabhogīṃdravibhūṣaṇavibhūṣitam ..
adorned with ornaments of the eight serpent kings, Vāsuki and the rest.
3.1.24.88
dṛṣṭvā vedhā mahādevaṃ pārvatyā saha śaṃkaram .. 41 ..
Seeing Mahādeva, Śaṃkara together with Pārvatī, // 41
3.1.24.89
lebhe māheśvaraṃ jñānaṃ mahādevaprasādataḥ ..
the creator attained knowledge pertaining to Maheśvara through the grace of Mahādeva.
3.1.24.90
tatastuṣṭāva giriśaṃ vareṇyaṃ varadaṃ śivam .. 42 .. ..
Then he praised Giriśa, the choice boon-giver, Śiva: // 42
3.1.24.91
.. brahmovāca .. ..
Brahmā said:
3.1.24.92
mahyaṃ prasīda giriśa śaśāṃkakṛtaśekhara ..
“Be gracious to me, O Giriśa, whose crest is fashioned of the moon!
3.1.24.93
yanmayāpakṛtaṃ śaṃbho tatkṣamasva dayānidhe .. 43 ..
Whatever wrong was done by me, O Śambhu, forgive it, O ocean of compassion! // 43
3.1.24.94
kṣamasva mama garvaṃ tvaṃ śaṃkareti punaḥpunaḥ ..
Forgive my arrogance, O Śaṃkara!”—thus again and again
3.1.24.95
namaścakāra somaṃ taṃ somārdhakṛtaśekharam .. 44 ..
he bowed to Soma, to him whose crest is fashioned of the crescent moon. // 44
3.1.24.96
atha devaḥ prasanno'smai brahmaṇe svāṃśajāya tu ..
Then the god, pleased with this Brahmā born from his own portion,
3.1.24.97
mā bhairityabravīcchaṃbhurbhairavaṃ cābhyabhāṣata .. 45 ..
said, “Do not fear,” and Śambhu addressed Bhairava: // 45
3.1.24.98
.. īśvara uvāca .. ..
Īśvara said:
3.1.24.99
eṣa sarvasya jagataḥ pūjyo brahmā sanātanaḥ ..
“This eternal Brahmā is worthy of worship by the entire universe.
3.1.24.100
hatasyāsya viriṃcasya dhāraya tvaṃ śiro'dhunā .. 46 ..
Now carry the head of this Viriñci who has been slain. // 46
3.1.24.101
brahmahatyāviśuddhyarthaṃ lokasaṃgrahakāmyayā ..
For purification from the slaying of a brahmin, desiring the maintenance of world order,
3.1.24.102
bhikṣāmaṭa kapālena bhairava tvaṃ mamājñayā .. 47 ..
wander for alms with the skull, O Bhairava, by my command!” // 47
3.1.24.103
uktvaivaṃ śaṃkaro viprāstatraivāṃtaradhīyata ..
Having spoken thus, O brahmins, Śaṃkara vanished right there—
3.1.24.104
nīlakaṇṭho mahādevo girijārddhatanustataḥ .. 48 ..
the blue-throated Mahādeva whose half-body is the daughter of the mountain. Then
3.1.24.105
bhairavaṃ grāhayāmāsa vadanaṃ vedhaso dvijāḥ ..
he caused Bhairava to take the face of the creator, O twice-born ones:
3.1.24.106
carasva pāpaśuddhyarthaṃ lokasaṃgrahaṇāya vai .. 49 ..
“Wander for purification from sin, indeed for the maintenance of the world. // 49
3.1.24.107
kapāladhārī hastena bhikṣāṃ gṛhṇātu bhairavaḥ ..
Bearing the skull in hand, let Bhairava receive alms!”
3.1.24.108
itīrayitvā giriśaḥ kanyāṃ kāṃcidbhayaṃkarīm .. 3.1.24.50 ..
Having said this, Giriśa [summoned] a certain terrifying maiden // 50
3.1.24.109
brahmahatyābhidhāṃ krūrāṃ vaḍavānalasannibhām ..
named Brahmin-Murder, cruel, resembling the submarine fire.
3.1.24.110
tāṃ prerayitvā giriśo bhairavaṃ punarabravīt .. 51 ..
Directing her [to follow], Giriśa spoke again to Bhairava: // 51
3.1.24.111
.. īśvara uvāca .. ..
Īśvara said:
3.1.24.112
bhairavaitadvrataṃ tvabdaṃ brahmahatyāviśuddhaye ..
“O Bhairava, observe this observance for a year for purification from the slaying of a brahmin.
3.1.24.113
cara tvaṃ sarvatīrtheṣu snāhi śuddhyarthamātmanaḥ ..52..
Wander through all sacred fords; bathe for your own purification. // 52
3.1.24.114
tato vārāṇasīṃ gaccha brahmahatyāpraśāṃtaye ..
Then go to Vārāṇasī for the pacification of the slaying of a brahmin.
3.1.24.115
vārāṇasīpraveśena brahmahatyā tavādhamā ..53..
By entering Vārāṇasī, this vile slaying of a brahmin of yours
3.1.24.116
pādaśeṣā vinaṣṭā syāccaturthāṃśo na naśyati ..
will be destroyed except for a fourth part; the fourth portion is not destroyed. // 53
3.1.24.117
tasya nāśaṃ pravakṣyāmi tava bhairava tacchuṇu ..54..
I will tell you the destruction of that [portion], O Bhairava; listen to that! // 54
3.1.24.118
dakṣiṇāṃbhonidhestīre gandhamādanaparvate ..
On the shore of the southern ocean, on Mount Gandhamādana,
3.1.24.119
sarvaprāṇyupakārāya kṛtaṃ tīrthaṃ mayā śubham ..55..
an auspicious sacred ford was made by me for the benefit of all living beings, // 55
3.1.24.120
śivasaṃjñaṃ mahāpuṇyaṃ tatra yāhi tvamādarāt..
named Śiva, of great merit; go there with reverence.
3.1.24.121
tatpraveśanamātreṇa brahmahatyā tavāśubhā .. 56 ..
By the mere entrance into it, this inauspicious slaying of a brahmin of yours // 56
3.1.24.122
śivatīrthasya māhātmyānniḥśeṣaṃ naśyati dhruvam ..
will surely be destroyed without remainder by the māhātmya of the Śivatīrtha.”
3.1.24.123
uktvaivaṃ bhairavaṃ rudraḥ kailāsaṃ prayayau kṣaṇāt .. 57 ..
Having spoken thus to Bhairava, Rudra went to Kailāsa in an instant. // 57
3.1.24.124
tataḥ kapālapāṇistu bhairavaḥ śivacoditaḥ ..
Then, skull in hand, Bhairava, urged by Śiva,
3.1.24.125
devadānavayakṣādilokeṣu vicacāra saḥ ..58..
wandered through the worlds of gods, dānavas, yakṣas, and others. // 58
3.1.24.126
taṃ yāṃtamanuyāti sma brahmahatyātibhīṣaṇā ..
As he went, the exceedingly terrifying Brahmin-Murder followed him.
3.1.24.127
bhairavaḥ sarvatīrthāni puṇyānyāyatanāni ca .. 59 ..
Having visited all the sacred fords and holy abodes // 59
3.1.24.128
caritvā līlayā devastato vārāṇasīṃ yayau ..
in sport, the god Bhairava then went to Vārāṇasī.
3.1.24.129
vārāṇasīṃ praviṣṭe tu bhairave śaṃkarāṃśaje .. 3.1.24.60 ..
When Bhairava, born of Śaṃkara's portion, entered Vārāṇasī,
3.1.24.130
caturthāṃśaṃ vinā naṣṭā brahmahatyātikutsitā ..
the exceedingly vile killing of a brahmin was destroyed except for a fourth part.
3.1.24.131
caturthāṃśena dudrāva bhairavaṃ śaṃkarāṃśajam ..61..
With that fourth part, it pursued Bhairava born of Śaṃkara's portion.
3.1.24.132
tataḥ sa bhairavo devaḥ śūlapāṇiḥ kapāladhṛk ..
Then that god Bhairava, holding a trident and carrying a skull,
3.1.24.133
śivājñayā yayau paścādgaṃdhamādanaparvatam .. 62 ..
went later by Śiva's command to Mount Gandhamādana.
3.1.24.134
śivatīrthaṃ tato gatvā bhairavaḥ snātavāndvijāḥ ..
Having gone there to Śivatīrtha, O twice-born ones, Bhairava bathed.
3.1.24.135
snānamātreṇa tatrāsya śivatīrthe mahattare .. 63 ..
By mere ablution there, in that most great Śivatīrtha,
3.1.24.136
niḥśeṣaṃ vilayaṃ yātā brahmahatyātibhīṣaṇā ..
the exceedingly terrifying killing of a brahmin was completely dissolved.
3.1.24.137
asminnavasare śaṃbhuḥ prādurāsīttadagrataḥ ..
At this juncture, Śambhu appeared before him.
3.1.24.138
prādurbhūto mahādevo bhairavaṃ vākyamabravīt ..64..
Having manifested, Mahādeva spoke [these] words to Bhairava:
3.1.24.139
.. .. īśvara uvāca .. ..
Īśvara said:
3.1.24.140
niḥśeṣaṃ brahmahatyā te śivatīrthe nimajjanāt .. 65 ..
"Your [sin of] killing a brahmin has been completely destroyed by plunging into Śivatīrtha;
3.1.24.141
naṣṭā bhairava nāstyatra saṃdehastava suvrata ..
there is no doubt about this, O Bhairava of noble vows.
3.1.24.142
idaṃ kapālaṃ kāśyāṃ tvaṃ sthāpayasva kvacitsthale .. 66 ..
Place this skull in some spot in Kāśī."
3.1.24.143
ityuktvā bhagavāñchaṃbhustatraivāṃtaradhīyata ..
Having spoken thus, the blessed Śambhu vanished right there.
3.1.24.144
bhairavo'pi tadā viprā brahmahatyāvimocitaḥ .. 67 ..
Then, O brahmins, Bhairava also, freed from the killing of a brahmin
3.1.24.145
śivatīrthasya māhātmyādyayau vārāṇasīṃ purīm ..
by the majesty of Śivatīrtha, went to the city of Vārāṇasī.
3.1.24.146
kapālaṃ sthāpayāmāsa pradeśe kutraciddvijāḥ ..
