vandhyavādyaṃ yathā vādyaṃ mṛdaṃgānakapūrvakam .. 25 ..
as if ear-pain had arrived repeatedly, O best of brahmins, / as if instrumental music accompanied by mṛdaṅgas and ānakas were futile noise,

pretasaṃdarśanaṃ yadvanmartyaṃ tatsā mahāsatī ..
vīkṣituṃ na ca śakroti gacchamānā tadā makhe .. 26 ..

tataḥ kṛcchrātsamāsādya saivaṃ taṃ yajñamaṃḍapam ..
kṛcchrātkārāgṛhaṃ tadvadduṣprekṣyaṃ dṛkpathaṃ gatam .. 28 ..

ye cānye vibudhāstatra saṃsthitā yajñamaṃḍape .. 6.192.30 ..
Likewise Śambhu, Śakra, and Vāsudeva as well, / and whatever other gods were staying there in the sacrificial pavilion,

te ca brāhmaṇaśārdūlāstyaktvā vedadhvaniṃ tataḥ ..
mūkībhāvaṃ gatāḥ sarve bhayasaṃtrastamānasāḥ ..31..

5.191.32
atha saṃvīkṣya sāvitrī sapatnyā sahitaṃ patim ..
kopasaṃraktanayanā paruṣaṃ vākyamabravīt .. 32 ..
Then, seeing her husband accompanied by a co-wife, Sāvitrī, / her eyes bloodshot with rage, spoke harsh words:
5.191.33
.. sāvitryuvāca .. ..
kimetadyujyate kartuṃ tava vṛddha tamākṛte ..
ūḍhavānasi yatpatnīmetāṃ gopasamudbhavām .. 33 ..
Sāvitrī said: / How is it fitting for you to do this, O old one in dark form, / that you have married this wife born of a cowherd?
5.191.34
ubhayoḥ pakṣayoryasyāḥ strīṇāṃ kāṃtā yathepsitāḥ ..
śaucācāraparityaktā dharmakṛtyaparāṅmukhāḥ .. 34 ..
On both sides of her lineage, women have lovers as they please; / they are abandoned by purity and conduct, turned away from righteous deeds.
5.191.35
yadanvaye janāḥ sarve paśudharmaratotsavāḥ ..
sodaryāṃ bhaginīṃ tyaktvā jananīṃ ca tathā parām .. 35 ...
In her lineage, all the people delight in the festivities of animal behavior; / abandoning their uterine sister and likewise their mother, [they mate with] another.
5.191.36
tasyāḥ kule prasevaṃte sarvāṃ nārīṃ janāḥ parām ..
yathā hi paśavo'śnaṃti tṛṇāni jalapānagāḥ .. 36 ..
In her family, men frequent every other woman; / for just as animals eat grass and drink water,
5.191.36_1
viṇmūtraṃ kevalaṃ cakrurbhārodvahanameva ca ..9
and merely discharge feces and urine, carrying loads alone,
5.191.37
tadvadasyāḥ kulaṃ sarvaṃ takramaśrāti kevalam .. 37 ..
just so does her entire family merely consume buttermilk.
5.191.38
kṛtvā mūtrapurīṣaṃ ca janmabhogavivarjitam ..
nānyajjānāti kartavyaṃ dharmaṃ svodarasaṃ śrayāt .. 38 ..
Discharging urine and feces, devoid of the enjoyment of birth, / relying solely on their own bellies, they know no other duty or righteousness.
5.191.39
antyajā api no karma yatkurvanti vigarhitam ..
ābhīrāstacca kurvaṃti tatkimetattvayā kṛtam .. 39 ..
Even outcasts do not commit the despicable deed / which the Ābhīras commit; then why was this done by you?
5.191.40
avaśyaṃ yadi te kāryaṃ bhāryayā parayā makhe ..
tvayā vā brāhmaṇī kāpi prakhyātā bhuvanatraye .. 6.192.40 ..
If another wife was necessarily needed by you at the sacrifice, / you [should have married] some brahmin woman renowned in the three worlds.
5.191.41
noḍhā vidhe vṛthā muṇḍa nūnaṃ dhūrto'si me mataḥ ..
yattvayā śaucasaṃtyaktā kanyābhāvapradūṣitā..41..
She was not married, O Vidhi! You shaved-head fool, surely you are a rogue in my view, / since you took a girl abandoned by purity, corrupted in maidhood,
5.191.42
prabhuktā bahubhiḥ pūrvaṃ tathā gopakumārikā..
eṣā prāptā supāpāḍhyā veśyājanaśatādhikā..42..
already enjoyed by many previously, a cowherd girl, / this woman full of great sin, worse than a hundred courtesans!
5.191.43
antyajātā tathā kanyā kṣatayoniḥ prajāyate..
tathā gopakumārī ca kācittādṛkprajāyate..43..
Just as an outcast maiden is born with a deflowered womb, / so is some cowherd girl born such.
5.191.44
mātṛkaṃ paitṛkaṃ vaṃśaṃ śvāśuraṃ ca prapātayet.
tasmādetena kṛtyena garhitena dharātale..44..
She ruins the maternal, paternal, and father-in-law's lineages. / Therefore, because of this despicable deed on the earth's surface,
5.191.44_2
na tvaṃ prāpsyasi tāṃ pūjāṃ tathā nye vibudhottamāḥ..
anena karmaṇā caiva yadi me sti ṛtaṃ kvacit..44..
you will not receive that worship, nor will the other best of gods, / through this action, if there is any truth in me anywhere!
5.191.46
pūjāṃ ye ca kariṣyaṃti bhaviṣyaṃti ca nirdhanāḥ..
kathaṃ na lajjitosi tvametatkurvanvigarhitam..46..
And those who will perform worship [to you] will become penniless. / How were you not ashamed, doing this despicable act,
5.191.47
putrāṇāmatha pautrāṇāmanyeṣāṃ ca divaukasām..
ayogyaṃ caiva viprāṇāṃ yadetatkṛtavānasi..47..
unworthy of your sons, grandsons, and the other celestials, / and unworthy of brahmins, that you have done this?
5.191.48
atha vā naiṣa doṣaste na kāmavaśagā narāḥ..
lajjaṃti ca vijānaṃti kṛtyākṛtyaṃ śubhāśubham..48..
Or rather, this is not your fault: men overwhelmed by lust / feel no shame and do not discern what ought to be done from what ought not, auspicious from inauspicious.
5.191.49
akṛtyaṃ manyate kṛtyaṃ mitraṃ śatruṃ ca manyate..
śatruṃ ca manyate mitraṃ janaḥ kāmavaśaṃ gataḥ..49..
A person gone under the sway of lust considers what should not be done as what should be done, / considers a friend an enemy, and considers an enemy a friend.
5.191.50
dyūtakāre yathā satyaṃ yathā cauraṃ ca sauhṛdam..
yathā nṛpasya no mitraṃ tathā lajjā na kāminām..6.192.50..
Just as truth is absent in a gambler, and friendship in a thief, / just as a king has no friend, so lustful men have no shame.
5.191.51
api syācchītalo vahniścaṃdramā dahanātmakaḥ.
kṣārābdirapi miṣṭaḥ syānna kāmī lajjate dhruvam..51..
Fire might become cold, the moon might become scorching, / even the salty ocean might become sweet, but a lustful man surely feels no shame.
5.191.52
na me syāddukhametaddhi yatsāpatnyamupasthitam..
sahasramapi nārīṇāṃ puruṣāṇāṃ yathā bhavet.. 52..
This grief would not be mine merely because a co-wife has appeared; / for men may have even a thousand women,
5.191.53
kulīnānāṃ ca śuddhānāṃ svajātyānāṃ viśeṣataḥ..
tvaṃ kuruṣva parāṇāṃ ca yadi kāmavaśaṃ gataḥ..53..
of noble birth, pure, and especially belonging to their own caste. / Take others, if you are overwhelmed by lust!
5.191.54
etatpunarmahadduḥkhaṃ yadābhīrī vigarhitā..
veśyeva naṣṭacāritrā tvayoḍhā bahubhartṛkā .. 54 ..
Yet this is a great grief: that a despicable Ābhīra woman, / ruined in conduct like a courtesan, having many husbands, has been married by you!
5.191.55
tasmādahaṃ prayāsyāmi yatra nāma na te vidhe ..
śrūyate kāmalubdhasya hriyā parihṛtasya ca .. 55 ..
Therefore I shall depart, O Vidhi, where your name is not heard— / you who are greedy with lust and abandoned by shame!
5.191.56
ahaṃ viḍaṃbitā yasmādatrānīya tvayā vidhe ..
purato devapatnīnāṃ devānāṃ ca dvijanmanām ..
tasmātpūjāṃ na te kaścitsāṃprataṃ prakariṣyati .. 56 ..
Because I have been humiliated, brought here by you, O Vidhi, / in the presence of the wives of the gods, the gods, and the twice-born, / therefore no one shall perform worship to you henceforth.
5.191.57
adya prabhṛti yaḥ pūjāṃ maṃtrapūjāṃ kariṣyati ..
tava martyo dharāpṛṣṭhe yathānyeṣāṃ divaukasām .. 57 ..
From this day forward, whatever mortal on the surface of the earth / performs worship or mantra-worship to you, as to other celestials,
5.191.58
bhaviṣyati ca tadvaṃśo daridro duḥkhasaṃyutaḥ ..
brāhmaṇaḥ kṣatriyo vāpi vaiśyaḥ śūdropi cālaye .. 58 ..
his lineage will become impoverished and full of sorrow, / whether he be a brahmin, a kṣatriya, a vaiśya, or even a śūdra in his home.
5.191.59
eṣā'bhīrasutā yasmānmama sthāne vigarhitā ..
bhaviṣyati na saṃtānastasmādvākyānmamaiva hi .. 59 ..
Because this despicable daughter of an Ābhīra stands in my place, / by my very word she shall have no offspring.
5.191.60
na pūjāṃ lapsyate loke yathānyā devayoṣitaḥ .. 6.192.60 ..
She will not obtain worship in the world like the other wives of the gods.
5.191.61
kariṣyati ca yā nārī pūjā yasyā api kvacit ..
sā bhaviṣyati duḥkhāḍhyā vaṃdhyā daurbhāgyasaṃyutā .. 61 ..
And whatever woman performs worship to her anywhere, / she will become full of misery, barren, and afflicted with misfortune.
5.191.62
pāpiṣṭhā naṣṭacāritrā yathaiṣā paṃcabhartṛkā ..
vikhyātiṃ yāsyate loke yathā cāsau tathaiva sā .. 62 ..
Most sinful, ruined in conduct, like this woman who has five husbands, / she will become renowned in the world, just as this one is.
5.191.63
etasyā anvayaḥ pāpo bhaviṣyati niśācara ..
satyaśaucaparityaktāḥ śiṣṭasaṃgavivarjitāḥ .. 63 ..
Her lineage will be sinful, roving by night, / abandoned by truth and purity, devoid of the company of the virtuous.
5.191.64
aniketā bhaviṣyaṃti vaṃśe'syā goprajīvinaḥ ..
evaṃ śaptvā vidhiṃ sādhvī gāyatrīṃ ca tataḥ param .. 64 ..
Living off cattle, those in her lineage will become homeless wanderers. / Having thus cursed Vidhi, and thereafter the chaste Gāyatrī,
5.191.65
tato devagaṇānsarvāñchaśāpa ca tadā satī ..
bhobhoḥ śakra tvayānītā yadeṣā paṃcabhartṛkā .. 65 ..
Then the chaste woman also cursed all the hosts of gods:
"O Śakra, since this woman who has five husbands was brought by you,
5.191.66
tadāpnuhi phalaṃ samyakchubhaṃ kṛtvā guroridam ..
tvaṃ śatrubhirjito yuddhe baṃdhanaṃ samavāpsyasi .. 66 ..
therefore receive the full fruit of having performed this [service] for your elder:
Conquered by enemies in battle, you shall suffer imprisonment.
5.191.67
kārāgāre ciraṃ kālaṃ saṃgamiṣyatyasaṃśayam ..
vāsudeva tvayā yasmādeṣā vai paṃcabhartṛkā .. 67 ..
You will without doubt go into a dungeon for a long time!
O Vāsudeva, because this woman who has five husbands
5.191.68
anumoditā vidheḥ pūrvaṃ tasmācchapsyāmyasaṃśayam ..
tvaṃ cāpi parabhṛtyatvaṃ saṃprāpsyasi sudurmate .. 68 ..
was approved by you beforehand for Brahmā, therefore I shall curse you without doubt:
You too, O most wicked-minded one, shall become the servant of another!
5.191.69
samīpastho'pi rudra tvaṃ karmaitadyadupekṣase ..
niṣedhayasi no mūḍha tasmācśṛṇu vaco mama .. 69 ..
O Rudra, though standing near, because you overlook this deed / and do not forbid it, O fool, therefore hear my word:
5.191.70
jīvamānasya kāṃtasya mayā tadvirahodbhavam ..
saṃsevitaṃ mṛtāyāṃ te dayitāyāṃ bhaviṣyati .. 6.192.70 ..
While my husband is alive, I have experienced the [grief] born of separation from him;
the same shall be experienced by you when your beloved wife has died!
5.191.71
yatra yajñe praviṣṭeyaṃ garhitā paṃcabhartṛkā ..
bhavānapi havirvahne yattvaṃ gṛhṇāsi laulyataḥ .. 71 ..
In this sacrifice where this censured woman who has five husbands has entered,
and since you, O Fire, accept the oblation out of greed,
5.191.72
tathānyeṣu ca yajñeṣu samyakchaṃkāvivarjitaḥ ..
tasmādduṣṭasamācāra sarvabhakṣo bhaviṣyasi .. 72 ..
as well as in other sacrifices, completely devoid of scruples,
therefore, O you of evil conduct, you shall be an eater of all things!
5.191.73
svadhayā svāhayā sārdhaṃ sadā duḥkhasamanvitaḥ ..
naivāpsyasi paraṃ saukhyaṃ sarvakālaṃ yathā purā .. 73 ..
Together with Svadhā and Svāhā, constantly beset with sorrow,
you shall never obtain supreme happiness at all times, as before!
5.191.74
ete ca brāhmaṇāḥ sarve lobhopahatacetasaḥ ..
homaṃ prakurvate ye ca makhe cāpi vigarhite. 74 ..
And all these brahmins, their minds corrupted by greed,
who perform the oblation in this censured sacrifice as well,
5.191.75
vittalobhena yatraiṣā niviṣṭā pañcabhartṛkā ..
tathā ca vacanaṃ proktaṃ brāhmaṇīyaṃ bhaviṣyati .. 75 ..
where out of greed for wealth this woman who has five husbands was installed—
so the word pronounced concerning the brahmins shall come to pass:
5.191.76
daridropahatāstasmādvṛṣalīpatayastathā ..
vedavikrayakartāro bhaviṣyatha na saṃśayaḥ .. 76 ..
Therefore, afflicted by poverty, husbands of Śūdra women,
sellers of the Veda you shall become, there is no doubt!
5.191.77
bhobho vittapate vittaṃ dadāsi makhaviplave ..
tasmādyatte'khilaṃ vittamabhogyaṃ saṃbhaviṣyati .. 77 ..
O lord of wealth, you give wealth at the disruption of a sacrifice;
therefore whatever wealth you have shall become unenjoyable!
5.191.78
tathā devagaṇāḥ sarve sāhāyyaṃ ye samāśritāḥ ..
atra kurvaṃti doṣāḍhye yajñe vai pāṃcabhartṛke .. 78 ..
Likewise, all the hosts of gods who have lent their assistance
and act here in this fault-filled sacrifice involving the woman with five husbands—
5.191.79
saṃtānena parityaktāste bhaviṣyaṃti sāṃpratam..
dānavaiśca parābhūtā duḥkhaṃ prāpsyati kevalam .. 79 ..
they shall now be bereft of offspring;
and defeated by the Dānavas, they will experience only sorrow!
5.191.80
etasyāḥ pārśvataścānyāścatasro yā vyavasthitāḥ ..
ābhīrīti sapa tnīti proktā dhyānapraharṣitāḥ .. 6.192.80 ..
And the other four women standing at her side,
called cowherdesses and co-wives, rejoicing in meditation,
5.191.81
mama dveṣaparā nityaṃ śivadūtīpurassarāḥ ..
tāsāṃ parasparaṃ saṃgaḥ kadācicca bhaviṣyati .. 81 ..
constantly intent on malice toward me, headed by Śivadūtī—
their meeting with one another shall be only occasional.
5.191.82
nānyenātra nareṇāpi dṛṣṭimātramapi kṣitau ..
parvatāgreṣu durgeṣu cāgamyeṣu ca dehinām ..
vāsaḥ saṃpatsyate nityaṃ sarvabhogavivarjitaḥ .. 82 ..
They shall not even be seen by any other man on earth;
on mountain peaks, in inaccessible places that mortals cannot reach,
their dwelling shall ever be, deprived of all enjoyments!"
5.191.83
.. sūta uvāca .. ..
evamuktvā'tha sāvitrīkopopahatacetasā ..
visṛjya devapatnīstāḥ sarvā yāḥ pārśvataḥ sthitāḥ .. 83 ..
Sūta said:
Having spoken thus, Sāvitrī, her mind overwhelmed by rage,
dismissed all the wives of the gods who stood at her side,
5.191.84
udaṅmukhī pratasthe ca vāryamāṇāpi sarvataḥ ..
sarvābhirdevapatnībhirlakṣmīpūrvābhirevaca ..84..
and set out facing north, even though restrained on every side
by all the wives of the gods, headed by Lakṣmī.
5.191.85
tatra yāsyāmi no yatra nāmāpi kila vai yataḥ ..
śrūyate kāmukasyāsya tatra yāsyāmyahaṃ drutam ..85..
"I will go where not even the name of this lustful one
is heard; indeed, thither will I swiftly go!"

ekaścaraṇayornyasto vāmaḥ parvatarodhasi ..
dvitīyena samārūḍhā tasyāgasya tathopari ..86..
One of her feet, the left, was placed on the mountain slope;
with the second she stepped onto the top of that mountain.
5.191.87
adyāpi tatpadaṃ vāmaṃ tasyāstatra pradṛśyate ..
sarvapāpaharaṃ puṇyaṃ sthitaṃ parvatarodhasi .. 87 ..
Even today that left footprint of hers is seen there,
meritorious, destroying all sins, resting on the mountain slope.
5.191.88
api pāpasamācāro yastaṃ pūjayate naraḥ ..
sarvapātakanirmuktaḥ sa yāti paramaṃ padam .. 88 ..
Even a man of sinful conduct who worships it,
freed from all sins, goes to the supreme abode.
5.191.89
yo yaṃ kāmamabhi dhyāya tamarcayati mānavaḥ ..
avaśyaṃ samavāpnoti yadyapi syātsudurlabham.. 89 ..
Whatever desire a mortal meditates upon and worships it,
he surely attains, even if it be very hard to obtain.
5.191.90
.. sūta uvāca .. ..
evaṃ tatra sthitā devī sāvitrī parvatā śrayā ..
apamānaṃ mahatprāpya sakāśātsvapatestadā .. 6.192.90 ..
Sūta said:
Thus goddess Sāvitrī dwelt there, resorting to the mountain,
having received great insult on that occasion from her own husband.
5.191.91
yastāmarcayate samyakpaurṇamāsyāṃ viśeṣataḥ ..
sarvānkāmānavāpnoti sa manovāṃchitāṃ stadā .. 91 ..
Whoever worships her properly, especially on the full-moon day,
obtains at that time all desires cherished in his heart.
5.191.92
yā nārī kurute bhaktyā dīpadānaṃ tadagrataḥ ..
raktataṃtubhirājyena śrūyatāṃ tasya yatphalam .. 92 ..
Hear the fruit of that woman who with devotion
offers a lamp before her, using red threads and ghee:
5.191.93
yāvantastaṃtavastasya dahyaṃte dīpa saṃbhavāḥ ..
muhūrtāni ca yāvaṃti ghṛtadīpaśca tiṣṭhati ..
tāvajjanmasahasrāṇi sā syātsaubhāgyabhāṃginī .. 93 ..
As many threads belonging to the lamp as are burned,
and for as many muhūrtas as the ghee-lamp endures,
for that many thousands of births shall she share in good fortune:
5.191.94
putrapautrasamopetā dhaninī śīla maṃḍanā. ..
na durbhagā na vandhyā ca na ca kāṇā virūpikā .. 94 ..
endowed with sons and grandsons, wealthy, adorned with good character,
neither unfortunate nor barren, neither one-eyed nor deformed.
5.191.95
yā nṛtyaṃ kurute nārī vidhavāpi tadagrataḥ ..
gītaṃ vā kurute tatra tasyāḥ śṛṇuta yatphalam .. 95 ..
The woman—even if she is a widow—who dances before her
or sings there, hear the fruit for her:
5.191.96
yathāyathā nṛtyamānā svagātraṃ vidhunoti ca ..
tathātathā dhunotyeva yatpāpaṃ prakṛtaṃ purā .. 96 ..
Just as while dancing she shakes her body,
so does she shake off whatever sin was previously committed.
5.191.97
yāvanto jantavo gītaṃ tasyāḥ śṛṇvaṃti tatra ca ..
tāvaṃti divi varṣāṇi sahasrāṇi vasecca sā .. 97 ..
As many living creatures as hear her singing there,
for that many thousands of years shall she dwell in heaven.
5.191.98
sāvitrīṃ yā samuddiśya phaladānaṃ karoti sā ..
phalasaṃkhyāpramāṇāni yugāni divi modate .. 98 ..
She who gives a gift of fruit dedicated to Sāvitrī
rejoices in heaven for as many yugas as the number of fruits.
5.191.99
miṣṭānnaṃ yacchate yaśca nārīṇāṃ ca viśeṣataḥ ..
tasyā dakṣiṇamūrtau ca bhartrāḍhyānāṃ dvijottamāḥ ..
sa ca sikthapramāṇāni yugā ni divi modate ..99..
And whoever gives sweet food, especially to women
who have their husbands, at her southern form, O best of brahmins,
he rejoices in heaven for as many yugas as there are grains of boiled rice.
5.191.100
yaḥ śrāddhaṃ kurute tatra samyakchraddhāsamanvitaḥ ..
rasenaikena sasyena tathaikena dvijottamāḥ ..
tasyāpi jāyate puṇyaṃ gayāśrāddhena yadbhavet .. 6.192.100 ..
Whoever performs a śrāddha there with complete faith,
with a single flavor and with a single grain, O best of brahmins,
to him accrues the merit that is obtained from a śrāddha at Gayā.
5.191.101
yaḥ karoti dvijastasyā dakṣiṇāṃ diśamāśritaḥ ..
sandhyopāsanamekaṃ tu svapatnyā kṣipitairjalaiḥ .. 101 ..
The twice-born man who, turning to her southern direction,
performs just one twilight devotion with waters poured by his own wife,
5.191.102
sāyaṃtane ca saṃprāpte kāle brāhmaṇasattamāḥ..
tena syādvaṃditā saṃdhyā samyagdvādaśavārṣikī .. 102 ..
when the evening hour has arrived, O best of brahmins,
by him the twilight devotion will have been duly revered for twelve years.
5.191.103
yo japedbrāhmaṇastasyāḥ sāvitrīṃ purataḥ sthitaḥ ..
tasya yatsyātphalaṃ viprāḥ śrūyatāṃ tadvadāmi vaḥ .. 103 ..
The brahmin who, standing in front of her, recites the Sāvitrī—
hear what his fruit is, O brahmins; I shall tell it to you:
5.191.104
daśabhirjjanmajanitaṃ śatena ca purā kṛtam ..
triyuge tu sahasreṇa tasya naśyati pātakam .. 104 ..
With ten [repetitions], that born of one birth; with a hundred, that committed in the past;
and with a thousand, in the three yugas his sin is destroyed.
5.191.105
tasmātsarvaprayatnena camatkārapuraṃ prati ..
gatvā tāṃ pūjayeddevīṃ stotavyā ca viśeṣataḥ .. 105 ..
Therefore, with every effort one should go to Camatkārapura
and worship that goddess, and she is especially to be praised with hymns.
5.191.106
sāvitryā idamākhyānaṃ yaḥ paṭhecchṛṇuyācca vā ..
sarvapāpavinirmuktaḥ sukhabhāgatra jāyate .. 106 ..
Whoever reads or hears this narrative of Sāvitrī,
freed from all sins, becomes a partaker of happiness in this world.
5.191.107
etadvaḥ sarvamākhyātaṃ yatpṛṣṭo'haṃ dvijottamāḥ ..
sāvitryāḥ kṛtsnaṃ māhātmyaṃ kiṃ bhūyaḥ pravadāmyaham .. 107 ..
All this, which I was asked, has been told to you, O best of brahmins— / the entire māhātmya of Sāvitrī. What more shall I speak?
5.191.192
iti śrīskāṃde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭhe nāgarakhaṇḍe hāṭakeśvarakṣetramāhātmye sāvitrīmāhātmyavarṇanaṃnāma dvinavatyuttaraśatatamo'dhyāyaḥ .. 192 ..
Thus ends the one hundred and ninety-second chapter, titled "Description of the Māhātmya of Sāvitrī," in the Māhātmya of the Hāṭakeśvara Sacred Field, in the sixth Nāgarakhaṇḍa, in the Skandamahāpurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses.
