> Sanatkumāra said: / Having fully worshipped Śukreśvara with white flowers and ointments, / and then bowing down with devotion, one is honoured in the realm of Rudra. // 1 // / A man, having seen Bhīmeśvara and worshipped him with effort and devotion, / incurs no fear in battle, at night, in water, or in fire, O Vyāsa. // 2 // / Having bathed Gargeśvara with sesame oil / and worshipped him with bilva leaves, a person shall obtain an increase in righteousness. // 3 // / Having fasted on the fourteenth lunar day, \[and\] having bathed \[him\] with sesame water containing a prastha of sesame seeds / and worshipped him with sesame seeds, he shall attain constant happiness. // 4 // / A man who gives a thousand cows, having cultivated special devotion, / freed from the bond of worldly existence, goes to the realm of Rudra. // 5 // / Having worshipped Kāmeśvara with ointments such as saffron, / he goes to heaven on an aerial chariot that moves at will; there is no doubt. // 6 // / Having bowed down to Cūḍāmaṇi on the bright ninth lunar day of Kārttika, / a man does not enter an animal womb; he becomes one whose mind is set on dharma. // 7 // / Having worshipped Caṇḍīśvara while fasting on the dark eighth lunar day, / one is not affected even by the grief arising from stepping over leftover offerings. // 8 // / Having approached all these auspicious sacred fords of Maheśvara, / a person of purified mind and cultivated self on earth goes to the delightful realm of Śambhu. // 9 // / Thus ends the twenty-fifth chapter, entitled “Description of the Māhātmya of the Sacred Fords of Śukreśvara, Bhīmeśvara, Gargeśvara, Kāmeśvara, Cūḍāmaṇīśvara, Caṇḍīśvara, and Others” in the Avantīkṣetramāhātmya of the fifth Avantyakhaṇḍa, in the glorious Skanda Mahāpurāṇa, a compendium of eighty-one thousand \[verses\].
