74.1
The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / On the northern bank of the Revā is an exceedingly beautiful pilgrimage place / that removes all sins among mortals, named Gautameśvara.
74.2
It was established by Gautama himself out of a desire for the welfare of the worlds, / as a stairway to heaven, O Yudhiṣṭhira, for men.
74.3
Go there with supreme devotion, where the god, the teacher of the universe, resides, / for the destruction of sin and to bestow an abode in heaven.
74.4
The pilgrimage place increases good fortune, grants victory, and destroys sorrow; / and by a single offering of funeral cakes, one redeems three families.
74.5
Whatever is given with devotion, whether small or great, / all of that becomes a hundred-thousandfold, indeed by the command of Gautama.
74.6
The supreme pilgrimage place among pilgrimage places was declared by Rudra himself.
