> Thus \[it is said\]. This is the manner of praise. As for the manner of extracting the mantra, because it will be stated at the end: “Where in the first verse the method of mantra extraction is clearly stated in the order of one, two, and three words, by the syllables corresponding to the numbers of those lines,” in this verse the seed syllables of Śrī Bālā are extracted as the first, second, and third syllables, respectively, in the first, second, and third lines. The visarga in the word “sarvataḥ” is extracted prior to the ‘sau’ syllable, because the letter ‘sa’ arises from it. By the ‘t’-affixation in “sarvataḥ,” the Anuttara is also extracted. By separating the two, the distinction between pure and so forth is indicated. Because it was said that the method of mantra extraction was stated along with its specifications, those very specifications are extracted right here. How? ai ī au; aiṃ ī au; aiṃ īṃ au; aiṃ īṃ auḥ: thus.
