> He adopted the finale: "You are praised!" He pleased them. They came into his control. He pleases rival enemies, and his own kin come into his control, who knows thus. Since he saw them being exalted, that is the Āmahīyava-ness of the Āmahīyava. Or rather, because having brought them under control he was exalted, that also is the Āmahīyava-ness of the Āmahīyava. Having brought his own kin under control, he is exalted, who knows thus. If any of his kin should be as if not brought under control, he should recite this very \[sāman\] sitting in their midst; he brings them under control. The Uttarakurus say: "The Kuru-Pañcālas partake of the soma without making the vaṣaṭ-call." For each deity the hotṛ makes the vaṣaṭ-call, \[but\] the udgātṛ for all; for the udgātṛ belongs to all deities. "With the finale of the Āmahīyava he should make the vaṣaṭ-call," \[they say\]. They partake of the soma over which the vaṣaṭ-call has been made. But Mārja Śailana used to say: "He pleases the rivals with the finale." Right before the finale he should make the vaṣaṭ-call with "vauṣaṭ, o Earth, you give!". He partakes of the soma over which the vaṣaṭ-call has been made.
