> Therefore, being two-footed, he mounts four-footed, eight-hoofed cattle.
> He introduces \[the chant\] with eight syllables.
> With two syllables each, he introduces the subsequent two \[verses\].
> That comes to twelve.
> Twelve months make a year.
> The year is Prajāpati, the sacrifice.
> Through this he attains the year, Prajāpati, the sacrifice.
> He makes the Rathantara resting on syllables.
> Therefore the chariot moves, standing firm on spoke after spoke.
> Having wrapped \[the enemies\] up with the Rathantara, the gods pressed them down with the Bṛhat as if with a net.
> Having wrapped up the hateful rival with the Rathantara, he presses him down with the Bṛhat as if with a net, who knows thus.
> By means of the Rathantara the gods went upwards to the heavenly world.
> Ninety-nine Asura-Rakṣases encompassed these worlds.
> They were called chariots (rathāḥ).
> Those gods, having praised with the Rathantara and having mounted the Rathantara, went to the heavenly world.
> They said: 'We have crossed over (atāriṣma) these chariots (rathān).'
> That is the Rathantara-nature of the Rathantara.
> He crosses over the hateful rival, who knows thus.
