> They gave travel and departure, \[saying,\] 'We shine back at you.' He goes by means of the waters along the path of the waters. The upward reflections of these \[waters\] shine back at him. Thus he attains these quarters. He rises for this eastern quarter. He rises over this upward quarter. Six \[months\] he goes this way, six \[months\] that way. He goes through the midst of the atmosphere. He sets over this western quarter. He shines along this earth. Just as a husband visits his wives in turn, even so does he visit these. He \[thought\]: 'May I seize all this together.' He took dominion from heaven, rule from the stars, selfhood from the atmosphere, form from the wind, the eye of kings from men, vigor from cattle, sap from the waters, essence from the plants, movement from the trees, generative organ from the birds, blaze from fire, the heart of the earth, fragrance from gold, thunder from speech, assembly from the fathers, and luster from the moon. Because he took (ādatta) from these beings, that is the Āditya-nature of Āditya. He who knows this thus, having become this very Āditya, sits on this royal throne.
