> The one group moves about fearing; among the others is their tracker and slayer. Therefore it is undertaken equal from equal. Concerning this they say: Why is the Abhiplava of one form and the Pṛṣṭhya of two forms, being the same, both shifted (vyūḍha) and combined (samūḍha)? He should say: Because this brahman is just brahman; but because a Kṣatriya, while being so, becomes a Brahmin, therefore the Abhiplava is of one form and the Pṛṣṭhya is of two forms. Now on this point some make the sixth day of the Abhiplava an Ukthya, saying, 'thus it is of equal weight.' But regarding that Śāṭyāyani said: Those who do so confuse the Abhiplava; then it becomes devoid of brahman; therefore it should not be done so. And now some remove the Dvipadā verses from the sixth day of the Pṛṣṭhya, saying, 'thus it is of equal weight.' But regarding that Śāṭyāyani said: A heavenly world is this, namely the Pṛṣṭhya six-day period; the sacrificer is this fundamentally, namely the Dvipadā verses; they cause him to fall from his abode. If anyone should say to those who have done so: 'They will fall from their abode, or from this world,' it would indeed be so. Therefore it should not be done so.
