> Thus he makes this unafflicted deity his householder. He indeed is of good vow. For if he were mischievous, he would burn up all this. Therefore the householder should be of good vow. If he should act against the vow of the consecrated one, or speak what is blameworthy or evil, or engage in sexual intercourse, or do anything else wrongly, he should attend this very Āditya with all these mutterings. Thereupon he is indeed consecrated. Now he is unconsecrated at this time; and whatever glory was in him when consecrated, that very glory is in him also at this time. Concerning this they say: 'He today may be consecrated, or he may consecrate another, who knows the cutting off of this glory of the consecrated one.' The black antelope skin is indeed the glory of the consecrated one. For this is the form of all the Vedas: those \[hairs\] which are white are the form of the sāmans, those which are black are of the verses; or, if otherwise, those which are brownish, as it were, or yellowish, are of the sacrificial formulas. Therefore, even if an unseen person wears it, they surely desire to see him. For this is the glory of the consecrated one in him.
