> Now they also say: Vāyu is the placer of seed;
> Sarasvatī is procreation;
> those two generate Sarasvat from the couple.
> Moreover, the cow runs first, the bull after; \[therefore\] Sarasvatī's \[verse\] alone should be made first.
> And as to that: Sarasvat's \[verse\] alone should be made first.
> Then the \[verse\] addressed to Bṛhaspati: 'May the kṣatra be consecrated in the brahman,' \[he thinks\].
> Then the \[verse\] addressed to Savitṛ: 'Impelled by Savitṛ may he be consecrated,' \[he thinks\].
> Then these two become introductory verses.
> For two sāmans are performed here.
> There is a nine-verse \[tṛca\] containing \[the root\] abhi- ('unto'): that is the form of the consecration (abhiṣeka).
> Moreover, thereby they do not depart from the trivṛt stoma.
> There is a six-verse hymn containing \[the word\] sa- ('with'):
> 'May he be consecrated with \[verses\] that speak of samaneness,' \[he thinks\].
> It contains \[the word\] 'bull' (vṛṣan):
> 'May he be consecrated as a bull being consecrated,' \[he thinks\].
> There is a four-verse hymn, for the obtaining of four-footed cattle.
> Secretly there are two-footed ones, for the obtaining of two-footed cattle.
> There is a conclusion: 'Whatever desire is in the conclusion, may that be attained by me,' \[he thinks\].
