> If these perish, where shall I be then? Come, let me heal them completely.'
> He saw these two-day Varuṇapraghāsa rites.
> He brought them.
> He sacrificed with them.
> With them he released them from the sin belonging to Varuṇa.
> In that these two-day Varuṇapraghāsa rites take place, he releases the creatures from the sin belonging to Varuṇa through them.
> The introductory verse (pratipad) of the first day belongs to the Maruts (marutvatī).
> The animals are for Agni and for the Maruts.
> When these creatures of his were seized by Varuṇa, the Maruts, falling into the vulnerable spots, sought to tear them to pieces.
> In that the introductory verse belongs to the Maruts, they appease the Maruts with this share.
> The animal is for Agni; the sacrifice is Agni, lest we go away from Agni, the sacrifice.
> The introductory verse of the second day contains 'ka' (kavatī), and the upālambhyā animal is for Ka; Prajāpati is Ka; thus they gratify Prajāpati in the end.
> Prajāpati considered: 'Joy (kam) have I been to the creatures; may I be joy to myself.'
> He saw this introductory verse containing 'ka' and the upālambhyā animal for Ka.
> Then indeed he became joy to the creatures and joy to himself.
> He becomes joy to creatures and joy to himself, whoever knows thus.
> The animal is for Agni; the sacrifice is Agni, lest we go away from Agni, the sacrifice.
