> When the seed-\[verse\] is being praised, he should unite the waters with the mind; between them he should cause the mind of the sacrificer to enter. Breath is the human yoke-pin, wind is the divine yoke-pin; when the Gāyatrī is being praised, he should unite the wind with breath; between them he should cause the breath of the sacrificer to enter. The eye is the human yoke-pin, the sun is the divine yoke-pin; when the Triṣṭubh is being praised, he should unite the sun with the eye; between them he should cause the eye of the sacrificer to enter. The ear is the human yoke-pin, the quarters are the divine yoke-pin; when the Jagatī is being praised, he should unite the quarters with the ear; between them he should cause the ear of the sacrificer to enter. Speech is the human yoke-pin, the earth is the divine yoke-pin; when the Anuṣṭubh is being praised, he should unite the earth with speech; between them he should cause the speech of the sacrificer to enter. In this way indeed he unites the divine yoke-pins and the human yoke-pins. Having thus united the divine yoke-pins and the human yoke-pins, he crosses over that death which is in the heavenly world; one who knows thus does not die again. He unites himself with the deities.
