> They said: "You do know our Indra-sounds.
> Give them to us, with which we may have sound.
> May that Brahmin have sound who knows us."
> To them he gave these Indra-sounds:
> what is the sound of fire, what of a chariot, that he gave to this one \[earth\];
> what is the sound of wind, what of birds, that he gave to this one \[atmosphere\];
> what is the sound of the rain-cloud, what of the drum, that he gave to that one \[sky\].
> These indeed are their Indra-sounds.
> Having lived \[with him\] for a year, they walked away.
> He said: "Why have you walked away?"
> They said: "You do know our Indra-sports.
> Give them to us, with which we may play.
> May that Brahmin play with offspring and cattle who knows us."
> To them he gave these Indra-sports, \[namely the words\] 'Indrā! Indrā! Indrā!'.
> These indeed are their Indra-sports.
> Having lived \[with him\] for a year, they walked away.
