> Man, indeed, stands placed beyond \[it\].
> Ten indeed are the fingers of a man's hands, ten of his feet, ten breaths, two supports;
> the self is the thirty-third.
> Wild animals run turned away;
> therefore, they turn toward a deer that turns its ears \[in hearing\].
> For it is performed for one who turns his ears \[in hearing\].
> These are Prajāpati's unique-hero sons, namely the stomas of the twelve-day rite.
> Then they say: 'This day is twenty-fourfold;
> all of it should be made twenty-fourfold, in order not to go against these unique-hero sons of Prajāpati.'
> Because these \[verses\] have thirty-three syllables, they do not omit the thirty-three-stoma thereby.
> Rather, more forms are missing;
> more forms are indeed the other \[way\].
> The thirty-three\[-stoma\] alone is to be performed.
> All the deities, indeed, are thirty-three.
> In all these deities at the end of the sacrifice do they become established.
> Moreover, firmly established indeed is this stoma that belongs to all deities, where the thirty-three\[-stoma\] is.
> Therefore, the thirty-three-stoma alone is to be performed at the end.
