Now, when this person breathes in or breathes out,

By speech alone he says that.

2.5.30
atha yad aṅgaiḥ suśīmam vā duhśīmam vā spṛśati / (agnihotra)
Now, when with his limbs he touches cold or hot,
2.5.31
na tad aṅgair āha iti suśīmam vā duhśīmam vā asprākṣam iti /

na indrād ṛte pavate dhāma kiṃcana iti /
"Without Indra no domain whatsoever purifies itself."
