19.7.1
Now as to this, some Chandogas make this day a Sarvastoma,
19.7.2
saying: 'By this day we obtain the six-day period;
19.7.3
by the six-day period, the year
19.7.4
and whatever desires there are in the year.
19.7.5
For the six-day period is indeed the whole year.'
19.7.6
If they should do so,
19.7.7
he should arrange a recitation arranged according to the six-day period:
19.7.8
what is the Ājya recitation of the first day, that is the Ājya recitation;
19.7.11
what is the Niṣkevalya recitation of the fourth day, that is the Niṣkevalya recitation;
19.7.12
what is the Vaiśvadeva recitation of the fifth day, that is the Vaiśvadeva recitation;
19.7.13
what is the Āgnimāruta recitation of the sixth day, that is the Āgnimāruta recitation.
19.7.14
There, having collected all the Pṛṣṭhya stotriya verses and made them into pragāthas after the pragātha, he should recite them to obtain the six-day period.
19.7.15
Just as the Chandogas obtain the six-day period by this day, [and] by the six-day period the year
19.7.16
and whatever desires there are in the year,
19.7.17
in the very same way, by this day the hotṛ obtains the six-day period, [and] by the six-day period the year
19.7.18
and whatever desires there are in the year.
19.7.19
Pointing this out, he indeed said: 'That is merely confusion.'
19.7.20
Whatever stoma the Chandogas may resort to,
19.7.21
he should pay no regard to it.
19.7.22
Just this recitation that we have declared,
19.7.23
from that alone he should not depart.
19.7.24
These two indeed are the praise-conquering hymns: namely the Kayāśubhīya and the Tadidāsa hymns.
19.7.25
From these two he should not depart, he should not depart.
