2.7.1

Night offers itself into day, day into night.

2.7.2

Prāṇa offers itself into apāna, apāna into prāṇa.

2.7.3

These six indeed offer themselves into one another.

2.7.4

He who knows these six that offer themselves,

2.7.5

even if he does not offer, his Agnihotra is offered;

2.7.6

and if he offers, it is offered twice for him who knows thus.

2.7.7

Even if one knowing thus offers the Agnihotra from a distance,

2.7.8

these gods indeed accept his two oblations.

2.7.9

And from whomever the gods eat even once,

2.7.10

from that very moment he is immortal.

2.7.11

He becomes composed of truth and composed of immortality, who knows thus.

2.7.12

Just as the offering of one who has faith, speaks truth, and practices austerity is truly offered,

2.7.13

so indeed is it offered for him,

2.7.14

who offers the Agnihotra knowing thus.

2.7.15

Therefore one who knows thus should offer the Agnihotra.

2.7.16

They deliberate: "Should the offering be made after sunrise or before sunrise?"
