Therefore he recites [verses] addressed solely to Soma.
9.6.3
Reciting the triplet containing [forms of] the root *i*, "Soma goes, finding the path...", he follows along.
9.6.4
Then the adhvaryu offers an oblation again in the Āhavanīya fire.
9.6.5
He should recite corresponding to that: "Towards the dear, repeatedly quivering…"
9.6.6
For that very [offering], this offering verse is: "Increasing the offerings…", being fitting.
9.6.7
Then they bring King Soma in through the eastern door.
9.6.8
As he is being brought in, [he recites]: "Varuṇa, the King, him… the two Aśvins him…"
9.6.9
and: "Viṣṇu opened the enclosure together with his friends…"—[these verses] he recites for him being brought in, as fitting.
9.6.10
"You have entered within; may you be Aditi…"—[this verse] containing the word "entered" [he recites] for him who has entered.
9.6.11
"Like a falcon to its nest…", "The seat made by poetic thought…", "We invoke you, the leader of the host…", "The Asura propped up the sky, all-gods…"—with verses containing words for "seated", he praises him who is seated.

He concludes with [a verse] containing a blessing: "Thus praise exalted Varuṇa…"
9.6.13
He recites fitting [verses].
9.6.14
Whatever is fitting in the sacrifice is successful, for the success of the sacrifice itself.
9.6.15
He indeed recites twenty [verses].
9.6.16
They amount to the Virāj.
9.6.17
Soma belongs to the Virāj.
9.6.18
The Virāj is food; Soma is food.
9.6.19
Thereby he makes food and food-eating abundant with food.
9.6.20
With the first [repeated] thrice and the last thrice, they amount to twenty-four.
9.6.21
Twenty-four indeed are the half-months of the year;
9.6.22
[it is] for the attainment of the year.
9.6.23
Thus indeed [it is] if they bring King [Soma] in through the eastern door.
9.6.24
Or if through the western [door],
9.6.25
the hotṛ should follow along by that very [path].
9.6.26
The hotṛ is indeed the self of the sacrifice;
9.6.27
Soma is breath.
9.6.28
[He does so thinking:] "Let me not separate the self from breath."
9.6.29
Standing to the north, facing south, he concludes.
9.6.30
King Soma is indeed glory and food-eating.
9.6.31
From there he places glory close to himself; he places glory [upon himself].
