Having addressed the uncooked [offering] with: 'To Rudra thee,' and the badly cooked with: 'To Yama thee,' then, if the strewn grass burns, having addressed [the fire] with: 'Homage to the consuming Agni, homage; O consuming one, do not harm me, do not harm my house, do not harm my wealth, do not harm my cattle,' he should offer with: 'To the consuming Agni, svāhā.'

If, when the subsequent time has arrived, the offering of the prior [time] has not been concluded, that is a lapse of time. As an expiation for that, he should offer [the offering] of the prior [time] with: 'May Mind [and] Light…'
2.7.9.25

In like manner he should offer [the offering] of the subsequent [time].
2.7.9.26
evaṃ pratihomam ā daśarātrāt prāṇāyāmaḥ \
In this way, for each offering up to ten nights, [there is] breath control.
2.7.9.27

Beginning from the eleventh up to twenty nights, [there is] fasting; beyond thirty nights, the Prājāpatya penance is prescribed.

2.7.9.29
atha parvaṇyatīte mano jyotiḥ ayāścāgne yadasmin svasti na indra iti catasra āhutīrhutvāgnaye pathikṛte sthālīpākaṃ kuryāt prāgaṣṭamāt \
Now, if a new- or full-moon day has passed, having offered four oblations with: 'May Mind [and] Light…,' 'And art thou, O Agni, Ayās…,' 'Whatever in this…,' and 'May Indra grant us welfare…,' he should prepare a cooked-food offering to Agni Pathikṛt before the eighth [day].
2.7.9.30

Beyond that, [it] is to be performed accompanied by fasting: two [oblations] when two [parvans have passed], and three when three. In this way, when they have passed, the expiation is an offering like that of the parvan. When the Ancestor-sacrifice has passed, fasting is also to be performed in both fortnights; this is established.
2.7.9.31
atha mahāyajñānām ekasminnahani mano jyotiḥ iti dvayostriṣu caturṣu pañcasu vā ṣaṭsu prabhṛtīti tisrastantumatīrhutvā catasro vāruṇīrjapet imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi yatkiñca ava te heḍa ityā navarātrāt \
